The anime does a bad job explaining everybody's levels. The crew upstairs on the 25th floor is capable, but you're supposed to understand that they are mad underleveled to fight that floor boss.

@Anthony Nguyen: no, I didn’t count shows or anime Lee reacted to, but anime that I’m following 😂 But I do missed out Date A Live S5 and Konosuba S3. I think they’re adapting Konosuba side story of Megumi into anime too.

I gotta say knowing that Marie can do that much with her healing magic kinda takes away the stakes of this season massively almost entirely.. now I’m no longer worried for bell or the main crew cause if something happens oh time for a trip to go see Marie

Its not like she’s shenron or some shit, shell only appear for bel, if the person is already dead she cant so anything and you gotta remember bel is partially immortal because hes quarter god. And they cant just go and see her, she’s only on the 27th floor and most people would die from injuries before they get there

@ArchbishopM Adding on to your comments, Bell and Ryu are at 37th floor now. While Marie can only go between the water level. There's no way they'll get her help now. So this raises the stakes for them. And Marie doesn't know the rest of the crew. She'll not risks her life for them. Likewise, they don't know her too. Thus they won't seek her out too.

One of the major points of of Danmachi is that it's an alternate take on ancient greek, roman, etc folklore. The idea that mermaid's blood has had healing properties is something from thousands of years back, so the author is drawing from well established history. If they didn't hint at Marie's presence earlier it would be an asspull when she shows up, and since they are foreshadowing it in advance people will complain they know what's going to happen... you can't win.

Unlike a LOT of the ancient folklore, Danmachi makes it clear that it ISN'T a tragedy. It's a heroic tale... and Bell won't let it end any other way.

Just FYI, That last Argo Vesta actually did some considerable damage to the Juggernaut. In particular it totally fucked up one of its legs so it can't jump around like crazy anymore. Also in case it wasn't made clear, Bell's left arm has basically been turned into a shattered mess. The scarf kept it from being ripped apart but it didn't actually stop the damage. So Bell right now has a basically useless left arm, SEVERE wounds covering his entire body, near death level blood loss, horrible acid burns covering his entire body, and the acid also melted his right eye shut. Not to mention he's almost completely out of mind (mana) and he's insanely exhausted. My boy is going through it.

Finally caught up, what a great season. First time I ever disagree with Dnasty this series! No way in Hell a tired one armed (left is done) acid ridden Bell and Lion in a worse state can even survive the white palace where first rate dies with no help. In my mind a fully healthy Bell and Lion struggle to survive but a near death and exhausted duo will get MERKED. Respectfully tho love the trust in our boy

Finally finished part 1 with your reactions. Last episodes were good, but there really isn't any tragedy as no real person close to Bell has died. I would actually like to see what we learned of the Elf that Bell would actually lose his whole familia which would actually get him a character growth for getting strong. I need more "Berserk" stories :D

Well most heroic tales from Greek history are heroic tragedy stories, the word "tragedy" actual comes from those tales made into theater plays. But I don't expect this to be nothing else, but our journey seeing how Bell become the strongest in this world/story.
