Lol. Lots of folks disagreed with us about Alicent. You hold her more accountable to evil than we appear lol. As we worked our way till the end. Directornasty compared her to Ainz. In terms of allowing terrible things to happen lol. Overlord is worth watching. Lol. No spoilers

Yes and no lol. She got too paranoid thinking rhinera was coming for her kids, Ainz thinking players out there to get him. She even had the npc killing people thinking is what she wants lol. But to be honest she is the bad guy rhinera just want to chill with her privilege, the deal she gave Alizon was good. But she too far gone to see it

It's the hypocrisy for me. You can't act like you have the moral high ground and then let your subordinates do the shit they do and not punish them. Let us remember, she dropped Rhaenyra over some pretty benign lies she told but this dude just murked his whole family and she's gonna keep him around. Alicent wants to see herself as good which a lot of amoral people do so at least she's realistic.

Lol it's all good. Show Alicent is wayyy different from book Alicent. The first 5 episodes were about humanizing her cause in the books she's entirely unsympathetic. Like who you like bruh, everyone is gonna do fucked up shit in this show so just stan who you stan.

Okay going to rant for Alicent for a bit. Marrying her daughter to Rhaenyra’s son sounds like a good compromise but it’s like sending the girl to a sinking ship to bucket out water without fixing holes. People were going to fight over a woman taking the throne but then Rhaenyra added 3 bastard sons on top plus a lifetime of insulting nobles all around her (we’ve legit seen death between nobles over a being called coward); lords and common folk are going to fight. Even if Alicent submitted completely, married off her daughter, swore her sons support, and still believed Rhaenyra was friend enough not to act against her then she still needs to trust Rhaenyra to act with Duty and Honor to defend her sons against people like Larys on Rhaenyra’s side. And we’ve NEVER seen Rhaenyra choose duty and honor when there’s a more comfortable option for her.

Plus marrying her Daughter would also put Alicent‘s family against both sides of the upcoming storm, if the realm chooses to believe the sons are bastards her daughter and sons becoming targets of different sides. All just to continue supporting Rhaenyra’s privilege and help her avoid the consequences of her actions? Asking that of a mother is crazy to me.

It's really not what Alicent has done, but why she has done it. She's a hypocrite. She's mad at Rhaenyra for lying to her about sleeping with men, but she did pretty much the same thing with Viserys after his wife died, but unlike Rhaenyra, she profited from her seduction by becoming the Queen. Now we can go into details of how her father Otto pushed her into that, but lets not take away agency from Alicent. Basically she was mad that her friend lied to her, and now with years passing, her anger grew and grew to a point where everything Rhaenyra does is not acceptable and wrong, and Alicent is holier than thou.

You don’t think that Alicent might be mad that Rhaenyra stubbornly clings to a throne that she grew up telling Alicent that she didn’t want, duty’s she feels trapped by and lords she constantly disrespected, while casually committing actions that could cause the deaths of thousands including Alicent’s own children? I know I’d be mad if my former best friend did that. Only one side can choose to avoid this bloodshed, and I’ll admit Alicent could make it easier for Rhaenyra maybe even avoid war, I can’t call her evil for standing up for herself and her children

Coming in I thought I would be a black supporter but seeing everything play out I fully stand behind Alicent and the green. There’s no way I’m following a bastard and someone who feel like she could do whatever she wants with no consequences, she’s basically the second mad queen

Honestly, I see Alicent as more a Light after the Death Note or Dio when he was found out in part 1. Up until her father left it was an act and now we are seeing the real her. Which makes the story great because the veil is lifted. Sadly the war probably won’t start officially this season.(Hopefully I’m wrong)

I believe it would be really hard for Alicent, or any girl at that time, to say no to her father and say no to marrying a king. Alicent wasn't as privileged as Rhaenyra or immature.

You guys are being to hard on Alicent. She hasn't done anything that bad to warrant all this hate. The show makes it real easy to side with Rhaenyra and against Alicent. Alicent probably didn't turn Larys in because one he was terrifying and two he could easily turn the blame onto her getting her killed in the process. Alicent wasn't totally paranoid. Her father poisoned the well by telling her Rhaenyra would have to kill her children to secure her succession and he wasn't wrong. And over the past 10 years, Alicent has every reason not to trust Rhaenyra because of her pattern of behavior, her lying for years about her children, etc.

Cap. Alicent is being petty as fuck for no reason, same with Cole. Rhaenyra might have rumors, but literally no one would do anything if The Queen wasn't poisoning her son's minds, trying to turn the King against his daughter, and just being a bitch in general. If Aegon doesn't want the throne, and they have a great relationship with the rest of the family, and own both the Navy and the dragons, no one would say shit. But Alicent wants to be petty.
