1:22:52 I do not agree that Alicent was trying to give good advice to the king. She is a mouthpiece, go back to the conversation with Lady Lanister and that group of people they are all saying to her we are at war blah blah It looks to me that she is like her father as we also found out in this episode is someone else's bitch too. Its all a political game to make Daemon look weak and keep the king looking strong so Aegon can be name heir etc etc as far as i understand everyone is playing chest Alicent included

LightMyPath Star

I also need to see more of her(Alicent) to believe she cares I disagree with you and Director on that part. She always does what her father wants however she does it her own way. He said go comfort the king and meant seduced she plays it smart and takes a book and relates to him saying I too lost someone(her mother)thus becoming a friend to him. She plays the long game. Its true she didnt mention making her son heir however she appears to be understanding saying things like help your brother show him you love him, let your daughter choose etc etc she is far more cunning than you guys give her credit for I'm sure just like becoming queen wasnt her suggestion to the king, her son becoming heir will be in her favor also. She is playing the long game. Men hungry for power get short sided hence why her father wants things done now, she is certaintly patient

LightMyPath Star

apologies for the will n testament 🤣🤣🤣 got carried away

Yaboyrocklee

It’s fine lol. They’ll think I’m smart in my episode 2 & 3 review. Lightmypath is carrying 😭😭😭. You might belong in the show with that high level intellect

LightMyPath Star

I have not read the books only going on observation n instinct I could be wrong lol. Hurry with those reviews I love them. It’s a more in-depth discussion without the shock of taking everything in fast like after the episode is first watched. And ty my brain it’s my super power 🙏👍

Gotta pay attention to the wording of the letter the king sent. Its all "you failing" and "win for us." Daemon doesn't want the king taking the glory of a war he didn't have any part of. Edit: Guess I should have waited for ya'll discussions. Ya'll got it spot on, about pride and glory. Also, that dragon is Seasmoke and yes belongs to the son.

I was team Stark last time, the obvious MCs, so I decided to change it up. Now, I'm team Hightower, specifically Alicent Hightower. I like Rhaenyra but she is a spoiled brat. She is acting like she doesn't know what time period she was born in. Almost everything is political. I feel like she is the only one not playing the game of thrones even though she was born into the game. The king is weak and makes poor decisions. He is a good man but good people don't do well or survive the game of thrones.

Jordan Olivier

Yeah, the Targareyons basically started the "fucking each other" brother sister thing, it was customary in Old Valyria, the place these people are originally from.

God Enel

This. I feel her but i feel like any mans gotta feel for the king. Hes DYING it looks like and hes doing what he can to give her the easiest path and shes being kind of a brat.

Jerome

She knows that royalty marry for political reasons yet she is making a fuss, making scenes, and making it harder for her father. She should marry who she wants to but at the same time i know she knows that she has to marry someone that will make her family and the realm stronger. IMHO

Kwame James

I understand what you mean by not understand what time she's in but I don't see her as spoiled if she goes alone with what normally happens it will keep happening like the Civil right move they was thought to be spoiled brats for wanting equal rights but the people in power didn't want to lose it but they forgot that they were considered spoiled brats by the British for wanting independents from them when they came to America and the British didn't want to lose their power especially since even stated in the episode that it would have been a better move to marry the 12 year old girl of his cousin but he picked what was better for himself because he had the power to do so and she is the princess and next in line for the throne and she should do what she's told

Kwame James

I don't know if yall realized when the king was reading the letter for help which was from the older brother he said his brother would sooner die before asking for help and it was mentioned they were using dragons not sure if they said two but it was more than one the problem was they hid in the cave and shot fire arrows so it was difficult

Kwame James

With the king he has a dragon it was mentioned in the scene he was talking to the 12 year old he was the last to ride a famous dragon called the black dread but he died

Kwame James

Also with the hunt situation I think yall misread it when he was killing the deer he looked weak he had a hard time killing it even though it was gift-wrapped and his daughter went out by herself with one other person and killed a wild boar and it was clear it was her kill they was impressed

I feel the need to point out that targaryens aren't fire proof. Daemon gets burned by that fire arrow, they show it on his chest in later episodes. Blame the original show for this, daenerys isnt fire proof in the books, she just doesnt get burned when her dragons hatch because it was magical event/ blood sacrifice. The stupid showrunners of GOT didn't have faith that people would be able to work that out so they changed it to make targaryens fire proof. In the books there are a few distinct cases of targaryens in history who died from fire. This show is a much more faithful adaptaion of the source material, so it seems they are retconning the whole fire proof targaryen thing.
