I have finally caught up! I too watched season 1 when it first came out like Director. Haven’t watched anything else since until I heard some hype about season 4 and was like “eh alright” then you guys react to it and with every reaction to it I’m like “I should probably rewatch season 1 and continue the show and see there reactions as well lol. Now that I’ve caught up to S2 episode 8 I can’t wait to see how this show goes! It’s amazing so far imo

Billy’s dad ain’t wrong in my opinion. I just don’t agree with the “whore” and “faggot” words. But he was right. Billy shouod look after his sister. His dad maybe an asshole but his message is actually right. I got my ass beat like this all the time and looking back now, I agree with everythjng. Of course, not including the words he used.

His intentional choice of words taint his message for me. It’s not even HIS sister (sure through FATHERS MARRIAGE). He’s pinning his wifes/married responsibilities to his son while abusing him. It’s the father’s responsibility if anything. It’s the mother’s responsibility if anything. Billy is 3rd in order. They ginna stay home as Billy goes.

I don’t think a father should ever lay his hands on his son like that.. you can say “oh Billy’s an older guy” but we have no idea HOW long this guy has been abusing Billy, it may have been worse with his initial mom.. I get it if you wanna be a little physical to get the point across to your kid, i.e. spanking, but to punch him across the face?

Yes if guess it’s different in parts of the world. I’m of Samoan descent and we get beat up a lot for doing wrong. But we also know that it benefits us. Not sure if you’ve met many Samoans but we built quite durable, mentally and physically.

Yea I get that, but billy is the older step sibling and If that was me I’d feel like I should look after her too. He may have grown up rough, but I feel like after everyone watched this little scene, people feel like his behaviour becomes justified,, his racism and bullying. But I don’t think it is.

Cultures is key here, even time period. But reading the wife’s body language, it’s not even culturally correct there. The wife was very uncomfortable, i think she even tried to speak up for Billy. Side note; my dad beat me up too for doing “wrong”. I get it. I just don’t agree with my father’s tough love

Clearly abusive and forcing things onto Billy. Nah, he aint right in any way. What he was doing wasn't discipline, it was abuse and look how Billy has turned out because of it.
