its cool your learning japanese, i've tried multiple times but it each time was too difficult. but i bet it'll be easier if i had a actual tutor, rather then pc software and games where they teach

My man with that Gauche x Kurapika energy

I like this episode you may think it's slow but it's not. It feels like having a connection to all these characters it feels like you right there with them

Black Hawk

When Yor drinks she has two sides to her. When she drinks she got that killer side but also she got that come home drunk from the club her man better be ready for that late night action LOL

The fact that you are feeling all these emotions from this show is proof that it's well written and executed. I totally only care about the family and hope to see more development on that front. Of course, Loid's actions were understandable from his perspective but it was tough to watch. On the bright said, it wasn't long and we can put this doubt in her behind us. Anyways, great reaction and discussion as always

Yo Lee, keep up the good work with the Japanese. Now you are starting to appreciate the difference between good subtitles and bad subtitles, cuz you can hear the subtle details that's being left out of bad subs. It's extra sauce that gets lost in translation.

Yesssss lol. It hits different now that I’m genuinely interested in the language on my own. Its cool to better read the scene because i hear a few extra words. Also it sounded like mumbo jumbo lol. Started to recognize more individual words is great.

If you wanna see some great examples of japanese anime translations check out Sarah Moon on youtube. She does it for a living and has some great insight that i never even thought of. To make it even easier to understand she made a recent video looking at a japanese translation of an american show (Bojack Horseman which is probably one of the best shows ever made) in order to see what goes into making a good translation and the difference between formal and functional equivalence. She even goes into the different effort that goes into subbing and dubbing and the limitations.
