goblin slayer is kinda like batman if bat man had no alter ego. hes absolutely obsessed with goblins. he thinks of nothing else but killing them. hes not op either, he just plans ahead.

The reaction to the first episode was grossly exaggerated. There's rape and murder but nothing gratuitous as something like Redo which was borderline hentai. I think it getting attention in the mainstream and freaking out normies made people gas it more then it should have. Like I've said before, this episode is supposed to set up context for this setting and afterwards it gets more tame as it focuses more on the story and characters. Also just a little tidbit, in this show no one ever uses names just titles so Goblin Slayer is what he'll always be referred as and she will be called Priestess. It's a play on D&D where people are known by their Class.

Let's go, was so confused when my email was telling me that this was already episode 2 :D. Goblins getting their yams one way or the another (joke). YBRL face from the shock of episode 1, come on you survived redo healer. PS. After your end talk, which was nothing surprising as episode 1 is somehow overhyped how bad it is, it's just there to set the tone that goblins aren't a joke in this world. Episode 2 forward you all will have easy ride and will have fun seeing "gremlins" butchered.

Redo was overly cruel to characters who semi deserved their fate and Also some what turned me on with how well the characters are drawn. It was borderline Hentai. A lot of hentai had the same tone lol. Goblin Slayer left more to the imagine of cruelty with less fan service. So there isn’t even a drop of visual excitement. That’s the difference. Ugly goblins going after girls. Lol.

Well I have said already episode 1 is the only really like this, now it will focus more the characters and the small story it has =). Just a reminder there is a Goblin Slayer movie which is continue to season 1 and should be seen before season 2 comes out.

Some people do exaggerate the explicitly of the 1st episode, it's definitely shocking but not as shocking as people make it out to be. People only really talk about the first episode but the rest of season is pretty solid in my opinion.

The story isn't pretty good, it's pretty generic with the fixation on goblins being what makes it different. Otherwise, there really isn't much to it besides everyone sucking the MCs schlong

lee, its LITERALLY 100% clipshow footage from season 1. you can just start watching the movie at 24:33 because thats where it actually starts. probably one of the laziest ways to inflate a run time i've ever seen :D

My thought on Ep. 1 was that the show needed to get people on board as fast as possible with the idea that goblins are terrible and deserve what they get from the main character. The LN could take a bit more time with world building, but the anime needed to fast track the concept.

This is a good shower overall from what I've seen in the anime so far. Everyone has a different tolerance so listening to others who complain about can warp your expectations. I watched this show as it aired and people did loose their mind after the first episode. This caused Crunchyroll to add a disclaimer to it afterwards since people were in such an uproar.

Personally, I think it's a decent series, but I have to admit the first episode is probably the most interesting because you didn't know what to expect, after that it's a little predictable but not necessarily in a bad way.

The only reason this really sort of blew up for the first episode is because the internet is a bunch of snowflakes that make an outrage out of anything. Anime has sadly got to very mainstream in general and have hit the pathetic average normie that can't stand anything out of the norm. Although this happened quite a while back years ago so it wasn't much you could compare it to. Redo came out very recently. Redo is borderline hentai. This episode was mainly just about the R-A-P-E and R rated gruesome killing scenes.

My brother had me watch this....had me gasping & looking between my fingers. But I finished it...and I actually enjoyed it! I watched it before Redo was a thing, which is apparently worse than this, so I won't watch it. lol.

I think it starts high, dips down, and but does get better with each episode to the end. I think a factor that helped for me is that the show is clearly just a Dungeons and Dragons game in anime form from the perspective of the characters.

Actually you don't need to see the movie before the 2nd season unless the anime changes the story vastly the movie is from LN 5 I think and S2 is gonna cover events before that most likely happen in LN 3

I actually started reading Goblin Slayer on a whim saw the cover art thought it looked nice and was like Goblin Slayer huh that's different so I was definitely shocked by the what happened now I just live in fear of something bad happening to my favorite characters

It was worse in the manga because they put in like a flashback to the backstories of every characters who got killed in the chapter. So you can feel a connection with the characters only for them to be killed. Kinda like that major in Tanya.
