I laughed so hard when the black knight killed all those civilians and all he had to do was get them to touch that silver cup instead. Over reaction on steroids. Lee I recall you thinking there was chemistry between Yen and Geralt When they were bathing together before he made the wish. Love ? No but lust for sure is what you saw

Correct me if I’m wrong but when yen says they took my choice. They didn’t really they told her the cost of the enchantment but she did it anyways cause she wanted to have a seat at a court.

Hey guys when you talked about making other witchers it is not children. Witchers are mutans/hybrids and hybrids will as far as i know always be sterile, but they did lose the ability to make witchers because you needed special potions and i think only 1/10 children survives that. They talk about the sacking of Kaer Morhen where the recipe and people capable of making it were lost. Please correct me if i got some of this wrong

Geralt explained to the queen when she asked why they aren’t many witchers left. He explained the secret was lost. Correct Buuuuuut obviously if he’s also sterile. It’s another reason to be short on Witchers. It was simply a joke with a hint of truth.

The 'artist' did tell her the cost but just like IRL, when people tell a teenager(what Yen was at that time) the cost of something they want, they don't think. They WANT and forget the consequences. She was young af(even more so when you consider how long she and others live in this show.)

I know what I'm going to say now is going to sound extremely wrong but from what I understand Geralt owns the princess (as an object), he can do whatever he wants with the princess, he can take her as his wife, he can kill her, he can do what he wants with her. Geralt currently owns the princess.

Just finished watching y'all discussion at the end of the episode. When you claim the law of surprise you get whatever the person is surprised by, for example if he found a couple gold coins in his bag the next night that belongs to claimer of law of surprise. In this event he was surprised by a child, which means that child belongs to him now.

I think y'all were confused at the end when you were talking about the law of surprise is intended for bethrothals. It has nothing to do with marriage or making children – it's just the other guy decided to marry Parvatta? Because they were in love. They briefly explained the law of surprise in episode 4, but that's the general idea. The odds of the surprise being a child is very small.

That's why Geralt said: "Child of surprise" the literal surprise he claimed was a child.

Hey there, I would like to give you a thought: Witchers are sterile, so how do they get new Witchers? They are created using magic, but there has to be someone to use that magic on, and since Witchers can't have kids, the law of surprise becomes quite the convenient tool. But as you already pointed out, witcher are an anomaly and the law of surprise has a different meaning and use to them. All the previous posts are correct. The law of surprise does not mean a child of surprise or marriage, but for Witchers that is actually one of the most valuable form of payment.
