I’m just going to put it out there since the show is terrible at showing it but each character is in a different time period at first. The hunchback girl is the oldest timeline, then the witchers, and the little girl is most recent.

Lol the show feels just fine timeline wise by the end of the season. Just cuz you think it feels like crap doesn't mean you have to say anything that might hint towards anything for future episodes. Yes, it's called the Right of Conquest, which means the winner can take whatever they fucking feel like from the loser, and the latter gets 0 rights to complain Also Elder is correct, since it's not only spoken by Elves, but it's pretty much universal among all the Elder races (so shit like Dwarves, Gnomes and other such "good" humanoid species common to fantasy settings, and even some sapient monster species also speak it as well, so calling it Elven would be a misnomer in that case)
