Damn, Il-Nam flatlining after the person got help from the police to help the drunk man on the street is poetic af. Also, both of your points are very valid: his daughter must be his #1 priority, but also, keep in mind that this Squid Game traumatized him and made him suffer a lot. Yes, he earned that money but that doesn’t stop the remorse he has. And what if Gun-Ho (the cop) is alive? I didn’t see the body after he got shot. For all we know, he may be alive. What if Gi-Hun teams up with him?

Even cooler breadcrumb was in ep1, during Red light, green light; the doll motion tracker doesn't highlight him (whereas all the other players show up with green/red outlines). That's some good stuff.

Welcome to the world of great Korean cinema/shows Lee. I would strongly recommend these movies: Train to Busan, Parasite, Man from Nowhere, The Chaser and New World. Then the show: Signal. I’ll keep y’all posted if I see another great Korean show coming up. There’s also a good but not great show called Extracurricular.

Personally I would not react to Alice in Borderland as it’s a watered down version of Squid Game. Very good games, but weakly written characters and plot isn’t that great.

I understand you guys not agreeing with his decision to turn around and not go and see his daughter, but hear me out. His daughter is safe and secure, she'll always be there for him to see eventually. These people that the game are preying on though, they're still being actively recruited. For him, and I'm just assuming his motives, he wants to try and take down the game and stop it permanently. Even if they are monitoring him, even if they try and cut off his money, you have to assume he has a stockpile of cash somewhere, especially since we saw him give a full suitcase of it to Sang-Woo's mom. He has a purpose now, something to do with his new fortune, take down the ones that gave it to him. IMO he dealt with the pressing issues like getting Sae-Byeok's brother a new home, as well as paying off Sang-Woo's debts so the bank didn't come for his mom's house and business. Like I said earlier, his daughter is well off in America with her step dad and his new job. His immediate mission now is saving as many people as possible from the Squid Game.

There is a theory, that Old Man lied to MC (sory I can't with korean names) one time, and that was abaut his name, and in fact he was MCs father, but for some reason he did not want to reveal this. There are just too many coincidences with them for it to not mean something

My theory is that gihun is gonna go back to be a red player and try and find out what’s going on and how they’re making the games and try stop it all because first ep when he was playing flip the paper card with the man he had a choice to pick blue or red , gihun picked blue and he ended up becoming a player wearing the blueish outfits but if gihun picked red he may have become one of the red players , because if you think about it all the red suit people also had numbers on them just like the players and if they break the rules they also die . So I believe that gihun is gonna go back and be a red player . So there might be a season 2 cause it kinda did end on a cliffhanger 🤷🏻‍♀️( and maybe that’s why he dyed is hair red? ) I’m not so positive on my theory but I’ll get it out there

That money is his they wouldn't care, he won it, its his. Gi's money is spare change compared to their money. It is pretty clear that he wants to stop the games and ofc we dont know how or if he does. But imagine having a daughter and THAT not being your purpose in life lol. Gi could just donate, or make a whole ass non profit company to help people and still be with his daughter.

It's OK Lee. I am Asian (born there, lived there yr 0 - 12, moved to US 13 - current) I sometimes get Squid Game characters mixed up too. It's hard to tell sometimes especially when they're all wearing the same clothes, same color hair, etc.
