im guessing this show likes to shout out to konosuba. mitsurugi is the annoying sword guy from konosuba and the two ogres are named eris and aqua.

Leo

I officialy hate this mc the most out of all anime mcs.

Matthew Galindo

I'd love to see you react to season 2 if it's in demand and you get some time. Season 2 is MUCH better.

Nick

🙏🏾🙏🏾

OneAnk

It got a second season btw

Damiester

The next arc is pretty long so I hope they don't cramp it into a 1 cour season.

LDD

Ayy thanks for the reaction homie

Damiester

Sophia and Lancer had good reason to believe Makoto was a Goddess's disciple. They explained it clearly too. He appeared with the Goddess's mana and was literally standing in the way of the Demon Army. There's no reason they'd believe Makoto's words. Arrogance aside, their actions are rather logical.

Kay M

yeah considering how many key portions of the story they had to cut out to wrap up this season. They literally removed huge chunks of details

LDD

Not a spoiler but as to why they understood him he was speaking in demi-human language and the Mitsurgi guy is a dragon (weaker than Tomoe) so he could understand him when he spoke thats why the adventurer said "You can understand him?" because she's a human and can't speak that language.

Yaboyrocklee

Ohhhhhhhhh. Man we thought we had it going back to the scene lol. We tried 😭😭

R'ja Norr

When they blocked the goddesses blessing they blocked the goddesses eyes. Since the goddesses couldn't see anymore Makoto was able to go all out. Also Lancer is a dragon, like Tomoe, so he could understand Makoto on that fact alone.

As for Makoto's looks, Think of it like this, Real world and his Japan see him as a 5 or 6 on a 1-10 scale. The Goddess is vain and it shows in her Hyman race. She made sure to make/blesses them so that they all vary from 7-10 in looks. Hyman social standards expect at least a 7 in looks as they do not know any different. To their race anything that may look below a 7 or has features anywhere close to being abnormal are seen as demi-human. Basically as a species they are much quicker to call someone or something inhuman then we do.

This is one of the first times I haven’t read source material so I can give an actual analysis/prediction. So I read the scene with the goddess as desperate more than anything. Think about it she had 2 heroes there and still needed a 3rd and I’m assuming the other 2 were there b4 him since she had to find him. She wanted nothing to do with him and banished him to the edge of the world and only summoned him when she NEEDED him. Bc I’m assuming the summoned heroes are weaker than the dragon/dragon slayer combo so the goddess was just throwing everything she had or could find at the demons.

2021-10-01 03:07:19 Just for reference heres some important details that were changed or removed within the last 2 episodes: - first of all if you look during the fight with Makoto's hand injury it looks bandaged but in the light novel he couldnt bandage it and it was actually turning purple and wrinkled up from loss of blood circulation after he tied the bowstring around his arm - during the fight when Sofia grabbed him and brought him up to the sky she actually also tried to seal his wind attribute so he couldnt use wind magic to escape falling. But since Makoto cant use wind magic anyway he yelled while falling saying it was pointless to do so - when Makoto opened a mist gate while falling to go back to the demiplane after shooting the water arrow at Sofia and Mitsurugi, Mio caught him and started trying to heal him, but since he has no healing apptitude normal healing magic doesnt work on him. Tomoe and Mio had to share their healing properties with him together but if Tomoe hadnt helped Mio was prepared to sacrifice her limbs to use that method to heal him alone - This is a VERY important detail they skipped: while Makoto was unconscious after being healed he dreamed about a memory from his childhood that he doesnt remember. When he was a kid his body was too weak to survive on Earth because he was born with the strength to only survive in the Goddess's world, which is far weaker than a normal human from earth. He inherited that from his parents. Makoto's parents met with a healer on Earth who found Makoto lying unconscious outside who said she could give Makoto the strength to survive on Earth by sacrificing his wind attribute and using up all of his healing attribute to strengthen his body enough to move around normally on Earth like a normal human. - the last main thing changed is that Shiki was actually not supposed to be with Makoto after he woke up cuz Tomoe and Mio told Shiki to go to the Academy ahead of time while Makoto was recovering so he could sign them up for the academy. When Makoto woke up after being healed they were supposed to have a telepathic conversation about it Also side note when they said a "mage in a red coat" was the one who caused the tragedy during the war that wasnt translated properly. They used the word "majin" to address Makoto which in this context can be translated as Demon or Devil. Since "demon" refers to the demon race in this show I would say "Devil " is more accurate.

At this point, he is not speaking Hyman. He was talking Demi-human. Lancer was able to understand him as he is a dragon, Sophia who is Hyman, only speaks common. At that moment he could have used Common but he is not fluent in it as the blessing was stopping him from specking it.

Kyle Kowalchuk

This is something readers would already know by this point. He was that first one summoned as he/his family had a deal with her and Tsukuyomi. Be cause of her dislike of Makoto she used her backup plan to abduct the other two from Japan. This is reference in the anime with a quick statement from the goddess. However this is directly stated in the Manga and LN and Tsukuyomi detect her doing this during his discussion with Makoto and is unable to stop it and has to ask Makoto to try and help the two out despite the goddess.

Nick

@lee i was dead laughing at that like "wow these ppl really think they nailed it" LMAO

Nick

Hope you guys enjoyed this anime somewhat yea budget held this series back a lot but i still think they did this series justice!

Eli Jones

hey yo guys season 2 is already confirmed in the works

Peacefinder Simply

budget held it back?, i thought it looked awesome, honestly looked better then the majority of modern anime. Althought there is a chunk of animes that were animated better. Some imo are Jobless Reincarnation, Jujutsu Kaisen, Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid S, The Case Study of Vanitas, 86, Vivy, To Your Eternity.

Damiester

The amount of character development, worldbuilding and conflict in the next arc is crazy. In fact, the climax itself would last like 3-4 episodes, let alone the build up.

Damiester

Most of the series you listed were pretty generic in animation imo. Not talking about the story, but just the style of animation utilised. There are examples such as Odd Taxi and Sonny Boy that had very unique art styles, but get slept on this year.

Yaboyrocklee

Gonna come through for Jobless, the way women were depicted was/is phenomenal 🙏🏽

Nick

@peace Being limited to 12 episodes which forced bad pacing mostly, still shots they didn't really spark up the animation till the mid point. Art was still great. Not saying it's terrible but detail was left out.

Random58

Damn they skipped a lot then. I hate when anime do that but as an anime only I don’t mind bc I didn’t notice

Thamor

That was so funny you checking it and failing still. Don't worry it was a good try YBRL =)

Thamor

I think some explained already, but Makoto can talk to non-"hyumans" normally and they understand him even if he couldn't talk their language. Only Hyumans can't understand him as his speak gets twisted for them, so with this knowledge...which one isn't Hyuman Sophia or Mitsurugi? =)

Kay M

yes this is correct. The goddess hated Makoto because she thought he was ugly so she summoned 2 other heros as a backup plan from Earth and they arrived in the goddess's world like 2 weeks before Makoto did. In the novel they show you who the heros are and what they have been doing throughout season 1 material

GorillaTaxtiX

damn man. you guys tripped me out with that extra chair in the frame. Thought you guys were about to have one of the ladies as a guest for this one. lol

Overlord_Ashalon

The Ogres when there first brought there for training are convinced the fruits that they've never seen are poison but after this become obsessed with bananas.
