5:05 BTW Erza Cheetah and Badger females have manes just on the back of their necks for self-defense (kinda like humans lol), though depending on the Cheetah species it may or may not be significant since the species cared for/domesticated by the nomads and/or living on wildlife preserves have little need for a mane on the back of their necks like the truly wild species on the verge of extinction do having to worry 'bout leopards, lions, poachers, wild dogs, etc.

Cheetah's may be a failure as a big cat but Badgers, namely Honey Badgers and River Otters, are true badasses despite the bad rep they get as weasels. River Otters prey on Anacondas and Jaguars with no natural predators and a strong sense of family, whereas Honey Badgers are protected by sheer apathy. He has the memories of a man, and carries the emotional and spiritual baggage of that man, but I don't think Rudeus is that man anymore. I don't think he's been that man since Roxy unwound his heart, broke the chains of fear from the trauma of his old life. But thats just how I see it, I know what a negative self image is like. Whoever Rudy was would never put himself at risk, especially not for a person like Eris who has hurt him so - that man wouldn't be able to. That man didn't find learning fun - Rudy does. That man would never risk humiliating himself in front of a crowd of people to help an abusive girl (even if she likes him, he wouldn't be able to conceive that any girl or even anyone liked him). All thats left of that man is how Rudy sees himself, he still thinks of himself as that man because negative self images are almost impossible to destroy, beause the peson really and honestly thinks of themselves that way, the same way an anorexic or bulimic sees themselves as fat when they're skin and bones. If Rudy was still that man everyone would hate him, he never would have left his home. Never saved the maid. Never helped Sylphiette. Never asked for a job. He would never have stuck with Eris. That man is dead but rudy is carrying his ghost as if its still his own, yeah he has his old life's worth of memories, and it clouds his judgement sometimes, but whoever that man was is gone and whats left, minus the internalized self loathing and resentment, is just memories. If Rudeus could let that image go, it would vanish, but you don't unlearn years of psychological degradation and self loathing in few short years. I hope he finds peace with himself one day, and learn to let go of who he was so he can be who he is now. Still, I do cringe at some of the shit he does with Eris
