As soon as you and Director were talking about Roswaal in the intro I was so excited and worried that you might miss the end credit scene I'm so glad you guys saw it. This episode has been my favorite episode of the series seeing all the witches makes me excited for the possibility of seeing the last 2. We've met Satela=Envy(jealousy), Echidna=Greed, Typhoon=Pride, Miverva=Wrath, and Daphne=Gluttony.

One clarification, Echidna actually doesn't see Subaru's life at the exact moment it happens. As you saw in the first trial, she was able to reconstruct the world Subaru lived in from his memories, meaning she can also see the different memories of him dying and retrying over and over again. An interesting thing that was cut from the anime, there is a part where Echidna ranks the different witches : Safe - Minerva (Wrath) Dangerous - Sekhmet (Sloth) Very Dangerous - Typhon (Pride) Extremely Dangerous - Carmilla (Lust) Absolutely Dangerous - Daphne (Gluttony)

Hey guys, finally caught up with your reactions! A few things as a anime only I've noted up until now, at least my interpretations: First of all, the Witch's cult only worships Satella, Betelgeuse wants Satellas love, and I'm assuming the same for the other archbishops too. This is supported by the fact that the only person who has the title Witch is Satella, she is the one that destroyed half the world after all. When people say Witch it's about Satella. ALSO - when people were talking about the White Whale, everyone said Satella created it in season 1 but it was intact Daphne the witch of gluttony that made it. Roswaal probably has the Gospel which tells the "true future," this was infact what Beatrice has (he said there's only two in existence). An interesting note, Roswaal said the books the Witch's Cult had were the "defective ones." You can interpret this a few ways but the it's pretty much saying it contains some sort of fate written in the Witch's Gospel. Roswaal was not with Subaru from jump, BUT, in epsiode 13 do you guys remember his little smirk in the capital? This could only be one thing in my opinion which makes the most sense: confirmation. In Roswaals book, I'm thinking it talks about someone having some sort of Return by Death power WITH NO SPECIFICS. And after episode 13, the Betelgeuse kills everyone again and again. Roswaal trusted Subaru from that point on to fix it because he knew it was THIS PERSON who had Return by Death. Alright I got a bit mind blown when I was watching season 2 episode 8 with you guys - Roswaal recommended Subaru to tell Beatrice "Roswaal said to ask the question," however Subaru was still confused. So Roswaal responds: "it looks like those words were insufficient, make her ask the question and then tell her affirmatively, 'I am that person.'" Roswaal ASSUMED Subaru already tried the first phrase in a previous life but it didn't work. So this means two things: Roswaal can somehow know what he's said in a previous timeline, or, Roswaal being extremely smart and took a guess if he's said the phrase before - I'm thinking he's taking a guess based on the fact Subaru is leaving for the mansion in such a quick and already thought out matter. These are just my observations so far, can't wait to see how this goes.

You said pretty much how I was thinking as anime only too. About Roswaal, I understood him adding that next line "I am that person" as he knew Ram had already said it to Subaru, but nothing happened with Beatrice, so he added more to it to make Subaru get the F:ing hint. Damn I was annoyed he didn't say that line to Beatrice when last time met her, hopefully get back to Beatrice mystery soon.

Nice reaction boys. You should if you have time check the episode again together no need to film it, well at least YBRL will see the episode again while editing it. This show is so heavy in information and mystery that it's really hard to keep up with all the juggling balls flying the air and suddenly Subaru's head is flying in the air to reset the storyline again :D

The thing is, that was in another timeline when Ram told told Subaru about the phrase. I doubt Roswaal is able to know events happening in other timelines, that's Subaru's ability. He can't know nothing happened with Beatrice either. So I think Roswaal jumped the gun and assumed Subaru already tried it based on Subaru's actions.

wow, those are good observations....I do remember the Roswaal smile in Ep 13...it was certainly symbolic for something
