Maybe in the intro, we just realize, you guys are just that way, so is normal for you. So, this is last you watched this day, kinda an odd stopping point, but sure. well, i realized, i think he chose to fight Subaru, because many others would have used it as an execution. So, he got in trouble for fighting, but was able to save face and keep Emilia's friend alive. Granted, Subaru kinda f'd that real good, but Julius is not a bad guy. Not as paragon as Gazef Stronoff (not sure if Picard is either), but not a bad guy. Also, I think while Rem may be being a bit selfish (which isn't inherently a bad thing)(she was ordered to stay, but..) however, she is being honest that she is doing it becuase she wants to. Not for his sake, not even to make him feel better. but for her own sake. which is such a difference. Admittedly, that's why she first gave her name as 'Satella'. He wasn't fazed by her appearance, her half-elf heritage, nothing. And, he seemed to like the name. While with reason, Subaru is getting really good treatment by Crush-sama. Healing by Felix (one of best healers) and sparring? training? with the Sword Demon of the Astrea family. I like Felix. Definitely my OTP with Subaru, but like him anyway. I do like how Crusch said "Everyone who was at the ceremony, knows who Subaru loves." Just realized... should I be worrying about that wind she was talking about, as it looks like the day is clear. (see, you can reach new conclusions watching reactors) And, we again see the idea of contracts and what they mean to the people of this world. Crusch providing for Subaru, training him, healing him, protecting him, advising him. All because she made a contract. And, naturally Subaru scoffs at the contract made. May have missed, but was said only took 1/2 day to get there, but to go around fog would take 2.5 Oh, one of the saddest lines to me.. "So save just a tiny bit of that for me, too" I can think of 2 sadder lines off the top of my head. I'd say with that letter, and her putting him to sleep, she understands Subaru very well. And, is interesting Subaru reads it as her thinking he's a good for nothing, which is imo, very far from what she thinks. Not quite sure what I think of Otto. So.. yea... that bow? creepy af for reasons... And, if you realize who they were (you have all the clues) is even worse. Did they look familiar, or the weapons left? You've seen before. Being Subaru is hell. Hey, he didn't die again, a new record. This series reminds me of another anime with a kinda ordinary dude protag obsessed with ceilings. -- So, another point of the Felix saying 'no i'm gonna say it' is him going explicitly against what his liege ordered. So many sacrificing for Subaru, and at least right now, he's not overly grateful for it. While I can admit there is a bit of selfish and selfless in what Rem did, I think I disagree on the idea it's coming from a bad place. Selfishness in and of itself is not an inherently bad thing. She does have a lot more skill than Subaru does. She admits even to him that she sees him as a little pathetic right now. And she doesn't care. She wants to be with him. and is honest about it. Which I think is a much healthier stance than Subaru's all this I did now you owe me. Similar actions, but very differing motivations. I mean, Subaru is gonna be staring out too... and just think, he gets to remember all this, while everyone else can blissfully forget. So, beef jerky, huh? Not twizzlers? Also, love the choice of thumbnail, that quote fits so well.

I love this show for all that it is, i need to watch season 2 badly, but I want to rewatch season 1 first and the OVA movie. You guys our in for a journey in more then 1 way (:

Love the analysis again. You guys are much better in getting mindset of Subaru compared to me watching this first time. I got little the intentions behind Subaru doing what he was doing this episode and understood at the same time how wrong he is. Still Subaru's mind is f:ed up, who wouldn't be if you died and died and died constantly till this point and somehow managed to get through, almost always not by his own strength but by getting help from others.
