The My Hero Academia series is immensely popular and has fans all over the world. My Hero Academia is one of the best shounen series available today. This show is quite realistic and relatable as it shows us that greatness cannot be achieved without struggling. My hero Academia follows the story of Izuku Midoriya whose hero name is Deku. Midoriya lives in a world in which 80% of the population is born with some kind of special quirk (super-power). Sadly, Midoriya belongs to the other 20% of the population. We see how Midoriya struggles to become like his favorite hero, All Might.

Season 4 Episode 13 Review

Today, I’ll be reviewing episode 13 of the latest season of My Hero Academia. This was one of the best episodes of this season. I’ll breakdown every scene and give my most honest opinion about it. In the start of the episode, we
see the members of the Ryukyu Agency

who were the first ones to stay behind.
This episode also shows us why it took
so long for the Ryukyu Agency to catch
up with the others; the villain “Rikiya
Katsukame” is quite strong. To make
things worse, he had taken a drug to
enhance the power of his quirk. The
episode starts off with a fight between Ryukyu and the villain. Just as the fight is taking place, we also see Midoriya. Midoriya comes outside to call for backup... But wait? Wasn’t he fighting Overhaul? This was actually Himiko Toga! We finally see the blood of Midoriya taken by Toga in season 3 come into play. The members of the league of villains were quite smart here. They all decided to flee before things got any worse, and this whole situation gave them a huge advantage as two of their biggest enemies were up against each other.

Members of the Ryukyu squad finally defeat the villain and make their way to the real battle! Overhaul vs Midoriya was one of the most highly awaited fights of this season. We of course, see Midoriya struggle to even get close to Overhaul. We also see some flashbacks and find out the truth about Overhaul. In my personal opinion, Overhaul was just another psychotic villain. Yea, we do see how all he wants is the revival of the Yakuza. But to be very honest, all he is doing is lying to himself. He does not want the revival of the Yakuza as a respected group but rather, just wants to rule society. He does not have any morals or values. Overhaul calls all the heroes pretenders yet; he is the biggest pretender. The hero killer “Stain” was a way better villain! Stain had an idea which actually made sense. His idea was a little twisted but at least it made sense.

Anyway, returning to the fight, we see Eri
finally take a stand for herself! She has an
amazing ability. Eri has the quirk to rewind
time for anyone she touches. Midoriya
finally manages to save Eri from Overhaul.
This enrages Overhaul, and he attacks
Midoriya. Midoriya accidentally uses more
than 20% of his power whilst kicking and
gets launched into the air. Now, Midoriya’s
leg should be out of commission. But to his
surprise, because of Eri’s power “Rewind”, Midoriya’s leg is fine and back to normal. Realizing that Eri has some special rewind power, Midoriya starts to use 100% of his power.

This is where the moment of real hype
begins! Midoriya goes SuperSaiyan on
Overhaul! I absolutely loved this part of the
episode. Midoriya finally for the first time
ever uses 100% of One For All and this power
is no joke. Midoriya easily manages to defeat
Overhaul after this and also proves to
Nighteye that, the future really can be
changed. This was a fitting end for this fight.
However, this fight could have been made better. This fight was supposed to end the whole Overhaul arc and for that reason it should have been extended and given one more episode. The fight between Midoriya and Overhaul was great but it did not have much of the “struggle” factor in it. Midoriya should have struggled a little bit more before he got his sudden power- boost, this fight should have put Midoriya to the ultimate test. Other than that, this whole episode was absolutely amazing and deserves all the praise that it is getting.
