From what I understood, if the ghost marries a human, they will be okay after the wedding. If they are a ghost or going to die, she would have to be with that person in the afterlife. Manwol did not want Chansung to be married to the ghost because she was jealous. She wasn’t worried about him losing his life.

I love the progression of the show. Chan-seong being picked by Mago to look after Man-wol cuz she knew Man-wol needed a little push and guidance. She's been stagnant for over 1000 yrs. She's seen and knows what people need for their personal closure but she doesn't help them in the way she should. Man-wol has a good heart but because of her own resentment and bitterness, she doesn't always go about it in the right way. That's why Chan-seong is there, to help and keep her on the right path. And the growing feelings they have for each other, will only help with her growth.

The cutting of that red string...heartbreaking. Some people believe that we are all tied to each other's fate with a red string. If that string is cut, your fate with that individual is also severed. However many lives you are given, your path to be with that person can never cross again because your ties to that person has been cut. This theory deeply saddens my soul.

More than often when k-dramas like this one and goblin get such high praise, its not just because of the acting, chemistry, and storyline; rather its the writers ability to creatively write in a way that does not drag the story over the course of three episodes just to reveal an answer that will move the story along. This script as well as Goblin's script was written in a way that gave us real time answers without dumbing down the characters jut to make them oblivious to what's clearly obvious. When we get real-time answers, it keeps us engaged and pondering on what's next. This is why this series is great. On another note, the Breakfast at Tiffany's was one of my fav looks on her. I waited impatiently to see what she was going to wear each episode. Her stylist really did her justice.........On a non-related note, Judge from Hell is Disney/Hulu partnership not Netflix. You can stream it on Hulu without those blackout breaks. Most but not all things on Disney can be streamed on Hulu even if you don't have Disney Plus. Also the heaven's opened up and released the Fiery Priest S2 this weekend. Let the ass kicking begin (In the name of the Lord of course) LoL. The entire S1 cast has returned. Yipppie.

I always thought the ghost bride idea was both heartbreaking (in not wanting someone to be be alone in afterlife) but also a bit unnerving. There are real life ghost bride/groom traditions in some cultures. There are also some unsolved murders of people who were unwilling participants to be the afterlife partner.

Small sub correction here: ManWol:"YeonWu was the one who loved me most. Gu ChanSeong, do you love me?" ChanSeong: "I'm certain I'm not him." It's a little subtler and more subtextual than 'I'm certain I don't love you.' There's more room for interpretation in Korean.
