(uncut) Hotel De Luna Ep 2 (Thursdays video delivered early) (Patreon)

You can definitely see what made the difference here. We didn't want to marathon W: Two Worlds back-to-back. The episodes were dragging a bit, so we switched it up and watched two episodes of Hotel Del Luna instead. I dropped both episodes on the same day because they felt like a package deal—Episode 1 just isn’t complete without the resolution you get in Episode 2.
Gotta say, I love the actress from W: Two Worlds. She was incredible in Happiness and Moving, but honestly, even though she’s adorable, she doesn’t hold my attention without Kang driving the story forward. I’m a big fan of strong female leads like the ones in Hotel Del Luna, No Gain No Love, Mr. Queen, Queen of Tears, Love Next Door, and It’s Okay to Not Be Okay.
Buuuut What’s Wrong with Secretary Kim and Marry My Husband (same actress) had a different vibe that worked just fine, and I gotta give a shoutout to the homegirl in Lovely Runner—how many times did we hear Sunjae in that? She was clocking in some serious overtime, LOL! I also don’t mind Kim Sejeong's character in Business Proposal. These ladies were out here getting things done, no cap!
Anyway, that’s my two cents, LOL. To be clear, W: Two Worlds is a well-written show, but my main investment is in the thriller aspects—Kang, the creator, the killer, the powers, and all the plot twists. I enjoy when the show shifts to rom-com mode, but there’s this transition phase where the female lead isn’t really in romance mode, Kang’s got his back against the wall, and she has to carry the story. That’s where it kinda loses me. But when it’s fully in on either the romance or the thriller—it absolutely smacks!
