@AIRS Yeah the badges were a fixture and became a part of the reaction itself. NOT-SO-FUN-FACT...The scene with Gina having to test her product was as real as it gets. This was common practice if you wanted to create new street partnerships. It also led to one of the most privileged jobs you could have as a drug addict, "The Tester." LOL There were literal interviews for testers. There were only four qualifications you needed to have 1) Be functioning and not strung out; 2) Have an extremely high tolerance; 3) Be readily available; 4) Have a good reputation for being trusted in the streets. Good testers were sought after like the new Jordans on release day. They were the final decision-makers during transactions. If they tested it and said it was great then buy it. If they say it's trash then it’s a no-go. The "testers" were slowly integrated into the game, leading to the saying "Never Get High On Your Own Supply," a saying used in the movie Scarface. Once testers were integrated, it became disrespectful for someone to ask you to try your product. Crazy huh Here we are in S2 and by now it's common knowledge that Franklin's character is based on Freeway Ricky Ross. Aside from this show being an eye-opener for the behind-the-scenes horrid details that went into the government betraying the minority, it also shed light on the "black budgets" that the President was not even privy to. The Government or as I like to call it "The Illusion of Inclusion" has never been for the people or its people. Prime example… poor Reed went from being thanked by the President in S1 to a non-sanctioned black operation of one whose main goal is to flood the streets with cocaine and make 21 million to fund the Contra War, all with no government support. This is bananas. I often wonder what the outcome would have been if he had said he could not do it. What would they have done? Now we have one man's need to be validated by his agency and hold power over his POCs set in motion the destruction of millions. S2 lets go…
