So my other half is at work all day and I'm going to be working on rewards in that time so halloween this year is going to be quiet apart from a horror movie marathon which started last night.
Let's talk our favourite movies! So far I got-
-Trick r treat
-Dracular dead and loving it
-Jeepers creepers
-Hocus pocus
-Paranorman (I can't talk about that film without crying)
-Evil dead (all three and the Ash vs series)
- Dog Soldiers (someone quoted this in the comments of some porn I posted and I was like 'yes I've made it in life')
-Candyman
-Cabin the woods
-Tucker and Dale vs Evil
-Shaun of the Dead

There's more but basically love horror comedy, splat stick, paranormal/supernatural, werewolves and monsters. Not so keen on zombies and slashers.
So please feel free to add to this and generally be spooky.

Does Howl's Moving Castle count?

Yes! Also Spirited Away and Princess Mononoke. Bonus points for it also being one of my favourite books as a child.

SciFi horror like Alien or The Thing?

I actually took a history of horror genre class and I now understand (and appreciate a few) horror movies and why other people like them. :)

Your existing list is excellent. I also am fond of "Behind the Mask: the rise of Leslie Vernon". It's fun, if not particularly scary take on the genre. Add classics like The Shining, Carrie or any other decent Stephen King adoptions to round out the selection.

Ow I've not heard of that, I'll have to add it to my to watch list! same with The Shining, its not a film I've managed to watch all the way through yet, not for any real reasons, its just I always manage to catch it half way through on TV and never think to pick it up on DVD. Thanks!

I could chew your ear off on that topic, especially as someone living in the UK where the supernatural is pretty much embraced and just seem as 'one of those things'.

Just curious, have you read any horror books?
