Update: Apologies for the confusion.  I had two posts up for this and had them flagged as Patreon only.  so I decided to merge them together.  If you cast your vote before, please do me a favor and re-vote.  Thanks!

SO.. I realize currently that a lot of my issues with my current coloring style may be a lot of self doubt.. and this isn't me fishing for compliments.. but I am actually concerned how things come out and how they appear. My eyes tell me one story, but YOUR eyes are better at pointing out issues I don't see.

So.. please vote on the preferred coloring style you would like to see for the comic. The image is attached at the bottom of this poll.

1 - This is the Druids method that I had ended the comic with. It is the most time consuming.. however.. I did this a bit differently. I have several 'shade' colors.. Instead of using just the 'cool' color to shade with, I colored warm on warm and cool on cool.. Not a lot of cool colored things here, just whites and blues, but otherwise I kept a lot of the same methods. Extra 'depth' shading and highlights.

2 - Same methods as the first but simplified and dulled so some of the more natural colors of the characters shine and not a lot of shading overtaking the image. This takes less than half as long as number 1. I am still unsure about this method but I believe with time it can be made better with practice.

3 - Cell shading, as I believe its called. The edges of the shades are far more defined. This doesn't allow for a lot of depth .. but again, can be worked on. It consists of the base color, one shade color, and where needed, a highlight color.

4 - Simple base colors. This would give the comic a more 'cartoon feel' to it, which you see in most animated features. The only thing that will always be shaded is the background. While in animation this is due to backgrounds being static while animated characters move on top of it without needing additional shading.. its still a look I enjoy..

Ultimately.. I leave it up to you guys.. Vote.. but also let me know your thoughts. Feedback is one of the greatest gifts you can give me. It will help me determine the way the comic will go, what to focus on, and what to not have hang-ups on.

Thank you guys for bearing with me.

Im a failure as an artist, so take this for what its worth lol. In THIS image I prefer style 1, but the characters are in close focus. For general images I think style 2 would be better, and maybe save style 1 for specific occasion where the added detail can increase the impact of the page or panel.

While 1 looks the best, 2 is a close second. 3 and 4 both have that 'Cartoon" look you mentioned, but I think that'd be better as an intentional shift to fit the mood of the scene - kinda like how Homestuck would change art styles to emphasize different moods. And honestly, 4 looks kind of ... unfinished?.. compared to most of your work. Ultimately, with 2 taking less than half the time of 1, I think 2's the ideal balance of effort and output. Still captures your art style pretty solidly.

Well, perhaps options 3 or 4, these images seem to me to be clearer and brighter. great luck!

I'm kinda weird in that I tend to prefer cel shading myself... both for my own art and for webtoons. Not that I ever had any cause to find fault with anything you did in "Druids".

Love option 1, but I know how painful it can be, and I'd rather get more comic, so voting for 2

2 feels like the median between 1 and 4~
