I put forward that the Abbott is the WORST FORGEMASTER EVER. Dude's out here with this giant 18ft tall industrial machine that spits out maybe a new nightcreature every other week, and they aren't even fully subservient to him. Meanwhile Hector and Isaac needed a knife and a hammer to crank out armies of nightcreatures every night, and they never deviated. Whatever demon this dude made a deal with for his powers just fucked him up so bad.

Pretty sure it was mentioned in the first Castlevania that only humans are capable of being Forgemasters, so even if it isn't the Abbott himself creating them, it does require him to operate it

It’s crazy that Vaublanc believe so much in the slave-master dynamic as the natural order that once he finds himself in the position of Annette (slave to the Vampire messiah) that he readily accepts to be branded. Some of the other vampires are also fans of the vampire messiah, but it doesn’t look like they would brand themselves like property.

so... is Castlevania like the Evil Dead universe and everybody goes to hell? To summon a night creature you have to pull a soul from hell i.e. Eduard went to hell. And last season/series Vlad's wife also went to hell-so what gives? Does anyone go to heaven in this world?

I think we don't know enough yet about why he is special. when Isaac was creating night creatures, it wasn't necessarily the original inhabitant of the body that was brought back, like that one philosopher from Athens

They probably made The Abbot’s Night Creatures less subservient to him to show how the quality of Night Creatures made industrially are lesser than the quality of Night Creatures made by hand like the ones made Isaac and Hector.

The only indication about "why" someone goes to hell comes from the fly-night creature that Isaac talked to in Season 3. He says that he went to hell not for being a philosopher or going against Christianity, but for giving up the names of his friends to be tortured and killed in his place. So there seems to be some kind of moral reasoning for going to hell and not just whether you are a Christian or condemned by the church.

That's pretty nice that they are referencing Elizabeth Bathory with the character Erzsebet Bathory. Noble woman who tortures and kills her victims and takes also takes their blood. I cannot wait for season 2 and I am glad its confirmed!

The Abbot is not a Forge Master. Forge Mastery is a craft and talent. Would you call yourself a MasterChef for making food in the microwave for a couple weeks? No. So, this Abbot guy isn't even a forge master to begin with so some Night Creatures may come out faulty especially since the Abbot isn't being personal with crafting the Night Creatures. That thing is just one giant 123 ez microwave. Actually from what I last remember, Night Creatures have random souls from hell grafted onto the dead body but this is an extreme rare case of a soul returning to their same body through this process. Fly Eyes was kinda like this ( doubt his soul was grafted back to his original body) who had the ability to speak and remember parts of his old life so it looks like it's about to happen again here.

Think of it like this. You wouldn't call yourself a MasterChef for making TV dinners in a microwave. The Abbot basically has a massive Easy Bake Oven that takes out the work of making Night Creatures. He's not doing any intimate or personal work with the dead bodies so really, he's not a real Forge Master so there's probably gonna be some flaws that come out just like how food isn't as good but mostly good enough when you microwave it.

This shows great, the start is slow but the writing is really well thought out and the artwork is beautiful. The first Castlevania was slow to start too, that first season barely felt like a season - people are eager to hate this new show for some biased personal reasons in my opinion.

Good, they're writing them better in the show. The original Castlevania would've been a joke if they kept Isaac, Hector, or Dracula like the games. The show improves on the writing of the universe and the characters in almost every way. Thank god they didn't listen to the people who complained about Isaac being completely different back in S2 of the original, and I hope they continue to not listen to people who have likely never thought about characters and writing past superficial YouTube breakdowns.

There's nothing wrong with the characters from the games. If you like the show's versions, that's fine, but there is a certain point where it's not even the same story anymore and it's OK if people don't like that. I've already accepted that they are different canons entirely. But the games ARE the true version of Castlevania. So saying you don't like them at all while saying the show is much better is like saying you don't even like Castlevania. The show's version is good and entertaining, but tonally it's like a Dungeons and Dragons fan-fiction with lots of added social commentary and modern cursing. Don't insult the people who've been playing the games for 30 years. They are allowed to be disappointed when the anime departs from what the games did.

Erzsebet Báthory Is based on a real life Serial Killer named Elizabeth Bathory who was called the Countess of Blood, because she would kidnapped young girls torture them and drink and bathe in their blood. Some say she is the inspiration for Bram Stoker's Dracula (1897).

i can't imagine seeing base Isaac from the games and thinking that's preferable to the show, but go ahead and keep complaining my guy. I played the games too and I liked them, but you're insane if you think the stories were ever that good. Pokemon is a cool set of games that are highly valued pieces of my childhood too but I don't really care that much about the characters or story structure. The original Castlevania show wasn't based on the games either, if you wanted Dracula to be like the games he'd just act like Satan without all the grey and nuance the show gave him. And Dracula's not even the antagonist anymore, so what story from the games are they supposed to follow? if you weren't on board with the original story by this point, then that's on you for not paying attention.

Im not tryna be funny or anything but seeing this slavery and vampires makes me think of ''Abraham LIncoln Vampire slayer''. If you haven't seen the movie I would defiantly recommend it. It had no right being as good as it was during the time it came out. Im pretty sure if it would have came out now it probably would've been even better since CGI has gotten better.
