This isn't a spoiler or anything but they are doing some avengers level movie with all the Star wars tv show characters and Thrawn is basically Thanos. So we will see The Mandalorian and Ahsoka maybe Luke all in one movie. This is basically adapted from the very popular Star Wars books Thrawn trilogy. Also props to Lupa for giving Asajj Ventress the respect she deserves. She was a badass. Last thing Ezra is also a powerful jedi when he was young in Rebels but they do be nerfing people in the Live action shows.

I’m gonna be honest, I hope they don’t watch CW or Rebels. Gun to my head, I would have to admit Filoni’s Star Wars is consistently overrated and I know that’s an insanely unpopular opinion on the internet these days. Too much hype already. Was it decent? In a lot of ways, yeah. It was - in a few parts - better than I may have expected going in blind. But after constantly having been told by every other SW fan how fantastic the storytelling is, how fleshed out the characters are, how ‘essential’ the plot lines were, how supreme the action is, etc… I found myself so incredibly underwhelmed and even frustrated at times. I get that I’ll be crucified for going against the 98% that love Filoni’s self indulgent work (and I truly wish I loved it, too), but - my subjective opinion - there are genuinely better and shorter shows these three can watch (like Andor lol).

Dave and other ppl that really care about Star Wars or trying their hardest to make the sequel movies make sense. Disney lack of plan and just putting content based on the Star Wars names has hurt the franchise as a whole. I think Dave has earned a chance to make what happen with sequels. I guess the hype is only so high because of how comparatively ass all the other SW media was at the time. Personally, i would choose Andor over the animated shows. I am a huge fan of the jedi/force stuff and i still believe Andor is the best show, despite having none of that. It really fleshed out the birth of the rebellion by showing how oppressive the empire was and how relatable the rebels were. After watching it, i could actually understand why the rebels would throw their lives away fighting super-powered dudes with sabers with planet destroying ships.

Seems like you just had too big of expectations going in. Clone Wars isn’t the best thing in the world No, but it is collectively well put together worthy enough for a blind watch since Sheera and Roshi haven’t seen it. They don’t even need to watch rebels fr. Andor is definitely great but it doesn’t capture the essence of SW like Clone Wars. And TOTJ, which to me are the best SW media hands down. Plus it makes things easier for them incase they react to more Star Wars content down the line.

Honestly I felt that Andor captured the spirit of Star Wars better than any show we have gotten thus far. One of the hardest hitting themes in the original trilogy is that of hope. Battling against impossible odds, believing in your friends, etc. I felt that stripping away the super powers and giving us rebels battling against a more realistic authoritarian faction highlighted that.

Ahsoka only used 1 lightsaber in the previous battle because she was focused on getting the starmap with her other hand. Now she could focus completely on her battle with Baylan and thus use both her lightsabers.

If y'all love competent villains like in Summer Time Render, you're going to be underwhelmed by Clone Wars (& Rebels until Thrawn arrives). It is a children's show with peak Star Wars cheesy-ness - antagonists making constant mistakes "blasted JEDI scum!" as the main characters constantly get saved at the last minute. Basically, nobody dies & villains never go for the kill shot. Cool lore stuff tho if you're absolutely obsessed with SW

I think Baylan leaving Shin has more to do with whatever is calling to him and his own beliefs on power. He wants to do something that will change the status quo of the Sith and Jedi, while Shin's views of power are a bit more traditional or maybe even to a degree naive. Their paths would inevitably separate but I don't think Baylan wants to abandon her, and has faith in her abilities but she has to walk her own path and he his. And yes Thrawn is very much a tactician, and see's the bigger picture than most around him. He doesn't sacrifice without reason and is willing to lose the battle if it means winning the war. And the more battles he has with the heroes the more he learns about them and the more he learns how to counter them.

To answer Lupa's inquiry about Morgan's appearance: She wwas a survivor of the Nightsister massacre in the clone wars. She went into hiding and served the Empire as a robotics manager. She probably disguised herself as a human to survive and not have the Sith kill her since it was Dooku who ordered her coven's destruction.

The reason that this place is unaffected by the war is that it is in a completely different galaxy than the one that the entirety of the rest of star wars takes place in, so the empire's reach never got here.

So.. This show is my introduction to the Sabine character, and she absolutely comes off as overconfident, self serving, and kinda dense. Is she like that in other media too?

Honestly, it feels like they are giving the actress nothing to work with at all, like, in the scene with Ezra talking about the end of the Empire, it feels like no one is telling either of them what they should be feeling as characters. And the fact that she isn't visibly mourning for Ahsoka when she 100% thinks she's dead, or at least looking a little regretful, it really does not make her look very good. In Rebels, from the little I've seen, she still very much acts like a teenager with something to prove, but it's balanced out with a lot more saving of friends and good moments with each episode. But she could be so cool, with a blaster in one hand and a lightsaber in the other, a Mandalorian Jedi. I hope she gets more to do later.

I think its he wants to break the cycle of Jedi and Sith constantly fighting and resulting in one or the other getting decimated. He wants things to move in a new direction, and he feels called by something on the planet that he hopes is going to be the power necessary to do that.

I'd say some of the responsibility lies with the actors too, since their characters already exist, they should be doing enough research to learn about their characters from the Rebels show, what the character's motivations/goals/personality are so they can accurately portray them. I haven't watched the Rebels show, but the Sabine and Ezra interactions have been awkward as hell in general, lol.

Its up to the actors to understand the character, sure, but it's not their job to drive a scene. That's 100% on the director. And if two actors both seem awkward in their delivery, its likely that the director isn't giving them much to think about. It's his or her job to recognize when any part of the production is lacking and take the steps to fix it. And if the performance is lacking, it's on the director to do another take or get their actor into the headspace of their character better. I seriously don't think Sabine has been giving much characterization at all, other than a rebel, which is pretty much a given.

Definitely the directing has been a huge problem too, slow scenes, subpar dialogue, a severe lack of emoting by the characters, etc. Also it is funny how it has become "On-Brand" for Disney to have a show about someone but then make them seem like a side-character or worse. Because here we have Ahsoka as the MC but it seemed like we were following Sabine through the whole show and not Ahsoka. And even though they focused on Sabine, they just made her look like a brat that repeatedly got Ahsoka into trouble by stealing the map, getting stabbed, giving the enemy the map, Thrawn's return, etc... and Ahsoka was her Master they should be close... but it feels like the audience knew more about Sabine than Ahsoka cause Ahsoka kept telling Sabine this and that but we as the audience already knew Sabine was going to leave with the map at the beginning of the show, Sabine not giving up on wanting to save Ezra, etc... The show has just been weird in many aspects cause there is potential in here somewhere. This does feel like Star Wars, but maybe its just cause of the visuals and nostalgia, lol.

hence the 'basically nobody dies'. I'm in the middle of a rewatch - they're in a war & main characters get saved at the last-minute dozens of times. 98% of the deaths are random clones, unnamed characters or off-screen deaths. Like Rebels 2x15 had a mining guild dude falling off ledge, or the two random pilots in 2x14 that die under Hera's command. They only really kill off these types of characters to raise the stakes - but doesn't really hit since we didn't get to know them :/ they're undeniably children's shows, & have poorly written, cheesy villains (beyond Thrawn)
