To summarize: Madoka travels throughout all time and every universe to effectively mercy-kill all magical girls right before they turn into witches. That's why Mami was still alive at the end, because Madoka mercy-killed the Sweets Witch that killed her, so Mami never got eaten fighting her. Kyouko was also alive cause she didn't kamikaze to kill witch Sayaka; instead Sayaka was mercy-killed by Madoka right before she would have become a witch. Also, instead of getting energy from Witches (since they never existed), Incubators now gather energy by having magical girls defeat curse being called Wraiths (just think JJK effectively).

If Madoka wished for there to be no such thing as magical girls, her wish could be paradoxica., because to grant that wish she would strip herself of being a magical girl, but doing so would render her wish void. Repeat. So targeting witch transformations specifically was the better choice.

so what Madokas wish did was rewrite the the system in witch magical girls operate. contracts and wishes with Kyube are still a thing except now before a magical girl becomes a witch Madoka appears before them and purifies there soul gem before they turn into witches. however there is still a price to pay where before you would turn into a witch now Madoka takes the magical girl and essentially brings them to a heaven she created for them, there life still meets an end but they won't leave behind curses like they did before. This is why none of the wishes like sayakas are erased or undone, Madoka said it would be an insult to undo the wishes of magical girls so she had to think of a work around for it that would keep the wish intact but not result in a witch at the very end. the reason Madoka little brother can see her is because the creator stated the young children have the ability to see things that adults cants but as we get older and become adults we lose that ability. eventually as he grows up he will lose the ability to be able to see her and forget about her like everyone else. you're not wrong about Homura and the Labyrinth and keep that in mind when you see the rebellion movie!

The unfortunate sad part is the corrupted new universe magical girls don’t “go back to being normal” instead of turning, they just get mercy sniped by Madoka and wiped from existence — but at least they don’t have to suffer as a witch (who then causes more suffering). And Sayaka essentially transitioned into the afterlife and let Madoka take her rather than let Madoka rewrite her timeline, because she still wanted the best for Kyosuke. But I’m really glad you enjoyed and looking forward to Rebellion whenever y’all get around to it!

You guys got it in the end. This is a single resulting timeline where all the girls' wishes stick around, but the concept of a "witch" is deleted from the world. Sayaka still cures old boy and he lives his dream.

Yea y'all pretty much got everything. Magical girls still exist it's just that when their soul gem becomes corrupted, they don't become a witch and Madoka basically mercy kills them. Madoka is an omnipotent god that sees everything across all time and since she sees everything now, she also got to see all of the times Homura went back in time to save her. Since Homura has time powers she is the only one that still remembers Madoka and everything that happened before.

your not wrong, its been confirmed that historical women in history have been magical girls in the canon of this show, some of the ones we see in the montage are Jeanne of Arc, Cleopatra, Ann Frank and Queen Himiko, and Kassandra of Troy. Jeanne of arc has her own manga called Magica Tart where we see her become a magical girl and fight in the French wars to her eventual death at the stake.

Madokami basically reset the universe into a more traditional magical girl concept. Girls contract with a magical being and gain power to fight evil. Just now, when they finally burn out and are about to turn witch/evil (and die), Madoka swoops in and absorbs all the negative emotions and let's them die in peace. Also ya'll reaction timing is crazy! Movie 4 been announced for while, but that trailer dropping over the weekend was ridiculous!! It's was the same with Code Geass.

Its been years since I began watching Roshi's content, Madoka reaction was something secretly wanted, but the the amount of anime that comes out or classics to react to. I was fine never getting it. Sept 2023 we finished season 1 of Madoka. Its been a good ride. Thanks for the content guys. always looking forward to what is next.

If Madoka did something like completely wish magical girls out of existence, that would also mean that all the wishes of all the girls would be invalidated. Madoka did not want that, as she wanted to respect all the sacrifices the Magical Girls did for their wishes.

I think if madoka just made the wish for incubators to never show up, she still would've become a witch right after and the world would still be fucked. The wish she made took care of /every/ witch including her own (that huge thing with the half face that was surrounding the earth) side note: lowkey,,,, i really wanna see madoka's witch form even tho that would be the worst timeline,, it just looks so insane,,, from the giant pillar that we saw in homura's backstory to this huge universe destroying /thing/ in space like how insane is this witch?? what does a witch that big even do????

I never hated kyubei rlly. Their race is just doing what it can to survive and get energy, humans do the same with every other poor living being on earth. Besides, overpopulation is a thing so doing this would help us to not overpopulate (as fucked up as that may sound). Death is death and still is fucked up that kyubei was doing all of that but we have no right to complain because we do the same to survive. Kyubei is probably right too, that someday humanity would end up joining them after realizing how much infinite energy we can have and we would go to some other world and harness energy out of them too, cause humanity is also fucked up.

I have a theory about walpurgis after watching this episode 🤔 they never showed us the magical girl that is walpurgis.. 🤔 My theory is, that Homura is the walpurgis witch. Homura from a different timeline where she gave up and lost hope, becoming a witch. Having becomed a witch, as we have seen, she cursed the entire world. After destroying her world she travelled to every other universe to destroy the world over and over and over, basically the complete opposite of our Homura 🤔 (thought of this because of the gears, like the gears of a clock) O gosh and if Homura from this timeline is the one that turns into walpurgis? But she would die then? But what if she travels to a different timeline before Madoka kills her? Man idk 🤔 Anyway just a crazy theory 😂😂

Yeah Homura used the cubes to clean her gem at the end and sayaka died by using too much power at once during their mission in that new world so madoka came and grabbed her. Madoka not killing anyone really she only shows up once they are dying/becoming a witch she literally becomes the concept of magical girls afterlife essentially their god

Madoka’s witch is called Kriemhild Gretchen. She’s basically shadowy madoka but her dress is a massive onion/mountain. Her nature is mercy and she’s the witch of salvation. What she does is absorb all life into her barrier (that onion) which she believes to be heaven. Whether she kills the humans she takes or simply puts them to sleep hasn’t really been confirmed (it’s more likely she kills them). The only way to beat her other than killing her is to remove all grief and misfortune from the world; do that and she’ll disappear on her own because she’ll think the world is already a heaven. She’s incredibly interesting.

Her wish was eliminate every WITCH before they born, not to prevent magical girls from dying, every time a magical girl reaches her point of no return and is about to transform into a witch, Madoka arrives and takes her soul and takes it with her so she doesn't have to suffer, so, they just die but in peace.

Was Walpurgis not the first girl in green that we see after Madoka made the wish? Since she had a carnival theme & she looked to be in a similar spot when Madoka came to her. Homura would probably have a city theme or skyscrapers as a witch, but that's not present on Walpurgis. And I assumed she only goes back when something happens to Madoka, if she turned into a witch or died before Madoke, I think that would be the end of Homura (otherwise, she basically wished to be immortal!). But then what came before Walpurgis that would make Homura wish to save Madoka?

I don't really hate him either, my only issue is he does the whole, "How could I be a liar or betrayer when I (withheld important information that I knew damn well wouldn't benefit me to tell you because I'm not a dumbass lol) never lied! :3" bit. And that's understandable, because he's an emotionless alien. Humans would probably do the same thing, but at least we aren't emotionless & are capable of giving a fuck about others even when they aren't the same species. And Walpurg ends up ending the world in one of Homura's (and probably many) loops, so humanity never even gets a chance to get to that point anyway.

No the first girl wasnt walpurgis, after her attack they immediately jumped into other magical girls around the world. Also that’s the thing, if the current Homura is the one that turns into Walpurgis and somehow escapes from Madoka to go to another timeline, then this whole story is a loop. Basically everything that happened before she became walpurgis still happened, but then she is also the one that starts the whole loop of walpurgis appearing and madoka dying, making herself from that other timeline want to save madoka. Now, if its a homura from a different timeline where she gave up and started cursing the world then it wouldnt be a loop, she would obviously die in that timeline when madoka becomes god and that’s the end of that Homura that turned into walpurgis. It would be interesting to see them take this story in the looping direction. A story about a never ending loop.

So my personal opinion on why Madoka framed her wish the way she did, is cos at the end of the day.. those girls still made their wish. That was still their choice and what they truly desired. She can't or wouldn't want to take that away from them. That's why she framed it as "to erase the existence of witches." Their wishes are still granted but in the end they all still die when their souls get corrupted beyond repair. Madoka just simply shoulders the burden by taking away the corruption from them, granting them a peaceful end. So in a sense, altho Madoka made a wish powerful enough to destroy a universe and create another.... she essentially didn't change all that much. All those magical girls from the past and present.. still died. That's why Sayaka is still dead in the end of the series. But Mami and Kyoko are alive.. cos they were killed by witches. Which don't exist anymore because of Madoka's wish.

I’d say watch the movie asap so the show is still fresh on ur minds and even have a discussion about the anime beforehand to get all the details straight cause 😵‍💫 rebellion is extremely confusing and if you can understand even 1/2 of it, you will see how madoka is like one of the greatest anime stories ever made 😭

Madoka's wish to take away the despair of magical girls on the edge of despair and becoming witches turned her into a god, but only Homura remembers her. To all other magical girls, Madoka is just a phenomenon known by The Law of Cycles. When magical girls use up their energy, they disappear instead of becoming witches. Their wishes don't become undone or reverse, they remain.

It's true the first 2 movies are recaps, but if you ever plan to re-watch the series in your own time they are worth watching. Lot's of new animation, voice lines, scenes, soundtrack and just some redoing of other scenes.

ehh they really only need the last movie tbh. If you're a huge Madoka fan, I would say watch all 3 if you want all the base Madoka content you can get. But for a reaction channel, them only watching the last movie is fine.
