this movie was great ! 10/10. they literally played on all the theories you would hear about black communities being controlled through music and the food and the drugs and corner stores. they definitely set up another movie with the reveal of tyrone at the end and i hope they do chinatown too and we get to see who is in charge of all of this.....which is probably the president or something lol

Yeah some black people wanna be white real bad but mostly cause of the small messages demeaning what it means to be black. Some people don’t want to truly talk about it but some black people are so brainwashed they want the power white people have instead of trying to dismantle the system. Which is what the original Fontaine was supposed to represent. It seemed like he had been hurt by the system so bad that he chose to inherit it instead of take it down which is trash but makes sense especially with how some people act out here. Loved the movie 10/10

Movie was better than I expected. Like you'll said it had a bunch of social commentary, from various angles. You can draw your own lines to what each thing meant. Just don't think about too hard because somethings were for sure contrived lol. But overall really dope movie. Also I'm pretty sure that is Monica haha

we'll see but i think yall are just reading too deep into it. for me its giving homage. its just an ode to 70s blaxploitation films. think batman the animated series: set in modern day but aesthetic was the 1940s from clothing and cars down to bruce's black and white tv.

Yo-Yo wasn’t a clone - she was a dime a dozen because she wanted to leave and had already left. She wanted to do something more than the hood and be a prostitute. Therefore she was “free” not a clone and unable to be controlled by the code word. While Fontaine & Slick feel like they are a product of their environment (which they literally are) he doesn’t think he can move forward & he believes this is as far as he can do so he’s in the “trap”.

This film got me questioning my own home town right now. I'm going exploring a small area here that has never been fixed up just left damaged but blocked off by a wooden wall that gets repaired. So why repair something if you aint gonna do nothing with it. Gonna start asking the homeless, elderly and out of social people around about it. Sure out world may not be like this film but i do think its more of a documentary about the world itself.
