They are very small in terms of staff numbers and they also take on outsourced work from other studios like OLM, Sunrise, Kafka among others. The crunch issues will become more apparent as the season goes on but there is hope that they can brute force this season of Zom 100 atleast. And let's hope that they can move to an improved structure for future projects.

When I was new to my job in my old company, I was like him fr. Full of energy and enthusiasm. Then after a few months, I legit sometimes wished that a zombie apocalypse or an alien invasion happens. I cry on the showers too before I go to work. Then sometimes cry on the fire-exit a few minutes before going back in the office. So I relate to this deeply lol. Yeah, so the team that animates this used to work with OLM studio which has a toxic work hour and they left the studio. They intentionally made the name of the company in this show ZLM and had the same font as OLM to diss the company. They even used the same building as the real OLM in this show to mock them. Good for them tbh.

Easier said then done lol. In a culture with a colectivist mindset as deeply rooted as Japans, individuals can't just go against societal expectations. That scene where Akira contemplates quitting but decides against it because he doesn't want to create more work for his coworkers is painfully realistic. I work as an English teacher in Japan and this is an extremely common sentiment. Yeah, it's a problem, but it's a problem intrinsic to their way of life, one that emphasizes politeness, deference, responsiblity, and not rocking the boat.

It's 210K a month. That's how they calculate take home salary. The average in tokyo is 325K a month or less than 3000 dollars. His yearly salary would 2.5 million a year or about 18 thousand dollars a year. If you estimate that they work 40 hour work weeks which they probably do more, by American standards their hourly rate would be 1312 yen an hour or $9.34 an hour. Considering they have 200 hours unpaid overtime that would be 262500 yen or $1868.21 they aren't being paid a month. Half of their work is being stolen from them.
