For those interested in reading along with the original Hellā€™s Paradise manga, this episode 9 adapted the remainder of chapter chapter 22 (3/19 pages), and all of chapters 23-26. This is equivalent to reaching the end of tankōbon volume 3 of the manga. This season will likely adapt up to around chapters 43-44 (i.e. 70%-80% of tankōbon volume 5).

I think when Gabimaru kicked the Tensen and it threw up blood it looked like just his foot lit up like when Mei and that Tensen use that orange energy. Maybe it's because he has something that the Tensen and Mei have that allows them to use that power like some kind of blessing from the elixir and if it is I think his village chief probably gave it to him without his knowledge.

Fun fact: Many Plants are bi-sexed. that means they are simultaneously male and female. Since the Tensen are technically 7 beings split from one hermit from the beings were created in a special manner. The Elixer is basically made by the flowers grown through human Tao (male and female) and since plants are also both male and female, so are the Tensen from being created and sustained by the same mystical flowers. Thus why they can change between the two genders.

I've come to the conclusion this whole story is a remix of Sekiro. Gabimaru was probably a human who lived here and was taken by the shinobi leader after obtaining the elixir which is why he's the best in his clan. His foot even glowed as it one the Tensen. The location Horai reminds me of the fountainhead palace where the nobles suck the life out of you. I imagine the messed up creatures are those that got "false" elixir while the Tensen are the fountainhead nobles that actually get the real elixir. I swear if Gabimaru gets a special red glowing flaming sword...

i really like how the 7 hermits all have the same voice actors for their male and female forms, since they all come from the same person. thats dope. that also makes me wonder if mei is the daughter of them, is she the daughter of 2 hermits or a human and a hermit

My brother read the manga & second episode when they showed him ( a glimpse kinda ) I looked at him & asked ā€œthat dude is a savage huh? Looking all simple n shit.ā€ He looked at me & said ā€œI guess weā€™ll find outā€. Iā€™m waiting to see why, & going anime only with this show just for that reason.

I think when the Hisoka looking dude/gal said "you are probably subconscious about it..." she was probably saying the reason he is so strong and durable is because he is subconsciously using that glowing power that Mei and the Tensen used. We saw Gabimaru's foot glowing with that one kick which did a lot of damage, so that might actually be the reason why he is so strong/durable because he doesn't know it but he is using that ability subconsciously. This actually brings up a lot of questions because all these Tensen are.. plants/flowers? At least when they heal we see its plant stuff that reconstructs their bodies, and the Hisoka dude's actual form was a flower, but the Ninja Clan's Head is immortal too from what Gabimaru remembered, but he didn't have any plants growing out, the mystery might get super deep and interesting when they reveal more info about him. I am so happy the brothers didn't die, the blonde criminal quickly became one of my favorites, hope he survives.
