Super villain logic but justified for once. Gyokko could have easily ended this, but his characterization as an 'artist' (which was previously established) and his ego wanted the satisfaction of; as he himself said, 'breaking his concentration'. Anime villains are more often than not written better than others though.

i think they just not good at speaking. if i were a demon id be like "yall eat pigs and cows. this shit just the same. to everything else on this planet, humans are the demons." which is the problem i had with this show is that they portray being a demon as this "completely one sided evil" but the concept of their existence couldve been much more complex than black and white. And no, giving them sad backstories like Naruto isnt enough. I can give examples of similar concepts done well. Tokyo Ghoul, the existence of ghouls and humans was the biggest focal point of the show. Ghouls had humans as their diet no different than cows are to humans. Does it mean they deserve to die? Or humans deserve to be eaten? Another example is Parasyte. We can see that they eat humans but could live among them, however their base instinct is to devour humanity. Are they evil? Even though it is simply on instinct and not all are brainless monstrosities. Good and evil are concepts only to humanity. To these other species, they may not hav the same thought process. To them, eating humans is simply nature. If anything, they have the instinctual urge to eat humans. Just like nezuko who is almost forced to eat when shes around human blood. Humans on the other hand, dont have that need to eat meat. Its not like we will die or weaken if we stick to a vegetable diet. But we do anyway, cuz meat tastes good and we like it, just like the Upper Moons who consume more than they need to cuz they enjoy it and makes them stronger. I aint advocating for veganism cuz im a meat lover and neither am i gonna let a demon kill me cuz they hit me with this logic. Alls im pointing out is that we humans are the demons to most of the organisms on this planet because they are "inferior" to us. Demons are simply the same. So calling them evil is only from a "human" perspective.

the big mystery i guess. i aint a manga reader so i have this "Dracula-esque" vibe from Muzan. but who knows. considering hes the one that blooded the demons, perhaps it was his fault that demons have the urge to consume humans. idk for me, the fact that this concept and philosophy isnt brought up in this show feels like wasted potential. this demon is completely delusional in his words tho lol. but the concept of demons being "evil" for eating humans couldve been an interesting confliction for the whole show. thats why demon slayer would never be a "great" show imo. its a show with godtier animation and soundtrack but lackluster storytelling and characters. The Hashiras and demons are so black and white with no underlying layers to any of them except a select few demons. The Hashiras are just nice people that had unfortunate experiences with demons. The demons either have sad backstories or just straight crazy. Tokyo ghoul did it perfectly (not the anime) of how Kaneki was the bridge between two races and how he could understand both sides

To be fair, most of those things are being more frowned upon, and specific laws have been made against them, especially regarding the circus scenario you pointed out. The main and stark difference as that we are self-aware and don't kill the creatures who aren't self-aware for pleasure or out of joy. If you've noticed, more and more efforts are made to understand just how aware creatures are to give them specific rights. The same can't be said for demons who do things out of joy and couldn't care less for the aelf-awareness of humans, especially considering they used to be humans themselves.

You have to remember that most if not all of the demons were humans that felled into despair and then transformed completely with Muzan's blood. For demons, their abilities and personality are related with the way when they were humans. Example: Kyogai (drums with cutting abilities) loved his drum's music, but his parents didn't respect him, hence tranformed into a demon. E2: Rui (spider threads), made other demons to form a family together in a relationship through fear. Seems to be that he didn't have a true family bond when being human. E3: Hantengu, his story is never revealed, but it seems pretty obvious that he was bullied by other people before while he was very weak. That is one of the reasons for his power (wishes), Hatred (strong) protects fear (weak) and hates awful villains (who bully or hurt other people), hence, his weird personality.
