Tbh to me, Barou was the obvious choice. Isagi and Nagi mentioned in the previous episode that having a weak player added to the team will just be a burden in the long run. Barou may not be a team player, but the philosophy they follow is to team up with the strongest in order to get even stronger themselves which you can't do with a weak player.

Right? I mean she is right that soccer is a team sport and it is ok to pass the ball to other footballers to score a goal. But Blue Lock trains these guys to become the best strikers, not midfielders (Isagi’s weapon is more suit to be a midfielder tbh, but he always aims to be a striker) and this 2nd elimination round focuses more on individual skills, especially when they will probably have a rematch with highly skilled players in Rin’s team.

Lol y'all need to keep in mind that they lost to Rin's team with Bachira in their team, and Naruhaya is nowhere near Bachira's level, so if they took him, there would be no way they can win against that team and get Bachira back. Another point is that despite how well their cooperation was in that match, they still lost, and Isagi and Nagi both realized how much they rely on Bachira's passes after that lost, so what they need right now isn't another passer (I highly doubt that there's still anyone left here with the same level as Bachira), but another highly skilled player.

Isagi isn't just copying either, I feel like when Naruhaya was saying that Isagi took his footwork and mastered it, he literally meant that he took it a step above his own footwork. Isagi has the ability to realize what he is lacking in for any match up, and with any teammates, and then come up with a new version of himself that can perfectly fit that scenario, it's like being a genius at being a genius, I hope he doesn't end up too OP tho.

@michael: i wish y'all would stop saying this when the english version of the manga is more of a localization (taking liberties to appeal to an english-speaking audience) rather than a faithful translation. in the japanese manga he says "ちょっと黙ってろ天才 (chotto damattero tensai)" which literally translates to "shut up for a bit genius". japanese doesn't even have swear words like english does so the people translating the anime aren't censoring or mistranslating anything. they're actually translating things accurately.

@naa I'm not gonna pretend to know the intricacies of the Japanese language however although they may not use the same swear words they have words with harsher connotation that in traditional translation would have the same meaning as our cuss words, they are taking something meant to be harsh and turning it soft, the exact translation isn't the problem, my issue is it doesn't convey the same harshness its meant to. I would rather them take liberty with translation so that it is easier for people that speak english to understand. Correct me if I am wrong but the same sentence in japan and english would be taken 2 different ways even if it is word for word.

here's the interesting part with how people think in Blue Lock. What Roshi mentioned is 101% true but the thing is... they're Egoists. If they're gonna win, they want to win by beating and being better than the best. Not cause they shut out the best. That's why the characters are quite savage in choices. just like in the 3v3 vs the Top 3. Technically speaking by raw "stats" the Top shouldve picked Nagi, but ofc to them Nagi and Isagi were pathetic as they're already hella good and very egotistical in the head. So they (or mr glam and mr negative rather) just picked Bachira cause he looked hella good in the match and really was the beating heart between the Isagi, Nagi and Bachira.
