Kageyama hiring them to steal the disc in the first place is not implied or shown in the anime plus it also doesnt make sense that if he didnt trust the russians so he hired the mercenaries, then why would he trust them not to rat on him about the plan?

So... Kagaeyama hired the Russian mafia to steal the disc containing info on the Asahi company all because he knew that his bosses in the company would ask him to retrieve it anyway, so he hires the Russians to steal the disc who in turn hire the main cast to steal it, who then give it back to the Russians, who then give it to Kagaeyama so that way he can give back to his bosses and get his moment of glory and promotions. It was all a big play by Kagaeyama to look good in front of his bosses, he hired the Mercenaries also, just in case the Russian Mafia betrayed him and would try to give it away afterward. Hope that makes sense.

It seems like they were showing Kageyama and then Rock to kinda let the viewer see the difference in their life choice. One, a workaholic on the corporate ladder who doesnt care about anything not related to the job with a safe and comfortable life, and the other a free but high risk life filled with living in the moment. To me, it seems like they used Kageyama to show what Rock could have been, and then contrasted that with what he became. But I dunno. Maybe Im reading too much into that xD

i hope they react to the full ending sometime. It's oddly eerie for an action series. Also fun fact about the VA who plays Revy, a big bulk of her voice work is My Little Pony. So talk about range lol
