I also thought Louise was the typical "popular" bully kid at school but damn it is amazing that they are throwing away all the storytelling-stereotypes in this show. I have not finished the episode but the way Louise switches from limping/dragging his feet to perfect "Star" Mode earned him MAD respect from me, unfortunately I sense him dying in the future, I am sensing Minato or All Might vibes from him, I hope it doesn't happen. Our Main Character Legoshi is also extremely interesting and I have no idea where they will go with that, he is the "top dog" that has suppressed his violent urges so far in life but that has been building up all the while and very well could make him snap, that rabbit really did almost get killed last night, lol.

Her name is written in katakana script which is used to write foreign words and names. It spells out Haru but Japanese doesn't have the L sound to reproduce foreign names and the RU is the closest thing. Both are technically correct.

i mean it makes sense. There is no L sound in japanese. a big example of this is Lelouch from code geass. Since JP doesn't use L's, it's pronounced to them as "Rurushu" but most people don't pick up on that. It's the same with Louis. in japanese the name is ルイ which could be said as "Rui" but like i said before, it's said in a way you wouldn't notice. Basically engrish

Nuance Is the name of the game with this anime. Very few characters are who they appear to be and Rouis is one of the best written characters ever...just ever. Dude is amazing and his complexities are beautifully executed. It is definitely fun to spitball ideas but I assure you when it comes down to who a character really is, you're most likely gonna be enjoyably wrong during these earlier eps

Just a heads up, the subs on Netflix are trash for some reason, but if you ever get interested in the dub, I would recommend it. It’s actually really good.

What I love about this storytelling is the use of animal traits to add into the characters e.g. rabbits (going at it like rabbits), or the roomates are cats and act 'catty'. The carnivores and herbivores to show stereotypes and prejudices. Its such a good anime!

the Japanese have issues with the letter L. Its not a stareotype Its because they never have to use the L in their diolect. So it comes out as R and not L sounding

With the names in this anime, these guys are not Japanese so their non-Japanese names ( the characters have European Western names ) are pronounced and spelled in Japanese dialect because they cant help it. Kinda like how we cant help but screw up Japanese names with our English dialect and names like Naruto, Jin, Yuri and Aang ( yes from Avatar ) are great examples since everyone always gets those wrong and not notice. His name is Louis, not Rouis. You wouldn't pronounce or spell Lucas as rukashi or Davis as dabisu if an anime with obvious non‐japanese characters said so would you?

This is one of those times we're it differs in opinion on if people accept multiple pronounced versions of names. To you, both are correct. To others, there's only one actual way to pronounce a name. Good example is Naruto for us English speakers. The real way is the native pronunciation ( nah-loo-toh) but here we carry the hard R and O ( Na-roo-toe ) and others basterdize hard ( nur-roo-dough ). We all know there are ways common Western Euro names aren't suppose to be spelled or pronounced. Rouis ain't how its spelled or pronounced, but that's me on the side of names only having a singular definite correct way of being pronounced as an ignorant American.

I was starting to get into this show but these two over-sexualize literally everything for no reason; 85% of Sheera talking in all shows are trash, repeated sex jokes, and you down bad kids eat it up everytime.

so I know this is kind of off, but I've seen both the subbed and dubbed version of this and in my opinion the dubbed actually amplifies their emotions. IDK if anyone else thinks so, but if you give it a shot and the people don't mind would you guys switch? (I say the people bc they are generally very strong minded 😂)

I mean, a Japanese person would pronounce hal as haru if they weren't familiar with anything but their native language. I don't think it's too far off to worry about, although for clarity's sake I think you're right in general.
