They usually do a poll, do most suggested comment on video they see on multiple posts (I think), or whatever is new that's been hyped up or they think they might enjoy. (That is how it seems to be since I have been watching them)

also their discord most likely plays a big part in their poll picks / special recommends. Their discord is quite active

It used to be polls and whatever had the most votes They would react too, lately it's just been whatever been recommended the most in the comments, I hope we go back to the polls after the next season of anime
