Y'all still don't realize that Eiji's literally Ash's saving grace. This dude is going up against psychopaths everyday, no close family, killed his own best friend. That's why Ash is always talking about death and dying, dude LITERALLY doesn't want to live (and honestly can you blame him?). Eiji's the only thing really keeping him going, emotionally and mentally, BECAUSE he wants to stay by his side. He's providing him with unconditional loyalty and friendship without needing anything from him, while everyone else around him literally just wants him to be the best killer he can be. Him leaving will just result in Ash either becoming just another cold-hearted hardened gang boss or completely giving up on living this hellish life and letting himself be taken out.
