whether it's a scheme or not doesnt really matter in the end, polly's completely justified to feel this hate against tommy. he manipulated and tried to control everyone's lives since the beginning just cause he could to gain more power, including taking away their medications or enabling people's drug addictions to the point of insanity. and ofc she's going to be selfish for her own sake and her son after all the shit she went through. all this blaming on polly and john for everything just feels crazy to me lol. tommy's the top of the hierarchy at the end of the day and he accepted the responsibility cause he thinks hes a god that's untouchable. he's kept everything a secret since s1 so people like john and arthur never knew how big and significant their mistakes would be for the entire family. everyone's accountable in some ways and the show showed that but people just focus too much on the single moments that triggered the deaths but never look at the big picture of how it led to that point.

Look I'll be upfront, all of the Blinders screwed up. HOWEVER, only Tommy acts like he's above it all. From the jump dude basically played the game he wanted to, and while it gave them tons of money, it also brought on WAY more problems than they bargained for. The guns brought Campbell, his gambling brought Sabini, the Russians and what's his face from season 1, and of course...the freaking IRA. She did her own trash but let's be honest, they were all satisfied running their gambling den but Tommy wanted more and continued to want more and more despite what they wanted.

The problem is that the show does a good job painting Tommy in a gray moral light. He's no saint, but he also tries to do the right thing, etc. He gets confronted by his family, he knows he has done wrong, he went as far as to distance himself from them. In some ways he's taking accountability. HOWEVER the show does not do a good job with the other characters. John FUCKED UP badly, this whole Italian vendetta was because of him. Why did no characters confront him about this? Its like everyone forgot. ( he's dead now, but still). Same can be said with Polly. Acting so self righteous, going on and on about "we almost all died", clearly forgetting that she was THE MAIN cause of it. No other characters take accountability, it's just Tommy. They all reap the benefits without taking the blame. As a viewer its frustrating seeing people like Polly and John take no accountability. I have no idea what you mean Tommy acts like he's above it all? He clearly didn't want the family close to him because he knew he fucked up. But you know who is acting above it all? Polly lol

“Immersion”😂 It’s historical fiction. The music fits perfectly with all the other stylistic choices of the show. The music doesn’t need to be period accurate. It’s like when folks talk about some fantasy series set in It’s far future post-apocalyptic sci-fi with heavy medieval inspiration, and they say “back in those days”, like what!?

So the whole thing about who started the Italian beef, is that nuance got thrown out the window from the get go. As an organization, they were right to advise Lizzie against dating Angel, being the son of the leader of a competing organization, and just having an overall sketchy background. Even if Angel wasn’t really about that life, like Vicente said Angel was just “sketchy” by association, just like Ada is “sketchy” by association with the Shelbys, it just wasn’t realistic that Lizzie kept working at the Shelby Company while at the same time dating Angel. But this could have blown over quickly by the two groups came together and explaining to the two lovers; “hey we’re not going to get in the way of your happiness, but the situation does bring complications so you two are going to have to make choices before we make them for you.” The thing is John went SO toxic about the whole situation escalated exponentially, and John pretty much put Tommy in a corner, so he had to go scorched earth on the Changretta.

Beyond his unchecked ambition, a lot of foul things that make people hate Tommy is Tommy cleaning up after people’s mess. Pol hates Tommy, but also Pol (and all the family really) participated in putting Tommy in a situation where he would do heinous things.

Well to be fair, Pol really is trying to get away from it all. Most of her gripes with Tommy be justified because: 1. Tommy doesn't tell anybody anything. (For good reason but it doesn't give people much time to really stop their own fuckery in time with ultimate causes more problems.) 2. He leaves them in charge of situations they are not equipped to handle. (Again, for good reason since his hands do be tied.) That's kinda why Tommy makes so many mistakes, he says he trusts his family more than anything. Then micromanages their somewhat destructive lifestyles, and whoever he is fighting at the moment doesn't catch on to his plan. At every start of the season, Polly for one reason or another has told Tommy to stop fucking around, Tommy ignores it and then he finds out. Polly is just as erratic as Tom but at least she wants out for herself and Michael. Tom legit doesn't give a fuck though.
