The only thing to clear up this time around is that Vanitas doesn't have a stone imbedded in his arm. The glove is there to hide the mark showing he's part of the Blue Moon Clan. That mark is pretty much equal to the divine tearstone, but he tries not to use it because it has it's own drawbacks

Idk why but Noè’s fight scenes aren’t as impressive or cool as they used to be. I can’t tell if it’s just more interesting characters fight better or he’s become “weaker” to drag on his battles.

Minorish Spoiler Warning: The reason Vanitas can activate the engine is because of his special blood from being a member of the clan of the Blue Moon. I think they show his mark to try to imply this, but it's explained in greater detail later on. My favorite scene for Jeannitas (Jeanne and Vanitas) is next ep. Let's go
