Man I wish I could get into this show. I try so hard but fizzle out around episode 3 or 4. I don't know why I dislike it. This is a beloved anime by so many people. I'm gonna keep trying after giving myself breaks. What's the main draw for everyone?

i got hooked after ep 7. i was confused af when i started watching it as well. i rewatched this show more then once because that's how much i enjoyed it. the first 5 or 6 ep were so confusing to me that i was considering dropping it at the time and thought it was torture because of how confusing it was.

I'm watching the show for the first time in English, which is my normal preference admittedly but I still watching their reactions. To me it's a bit of both, it's easier to take and they rescript things to have less vague explanations. This is true especially in later episodes, the tone of voice helps to not get all the words like "Stein's Gate" confused with normal words in the explanation. Maybe I'm just biased.

Normally I stay out of Dub vs Sub topics. But I agree, I really enjoy the dub. The VOD did a fantastic job at translation and voice acting the MC. Plus given their situation of reacting dubs would make it easier for them to follow and still be able to chat a bit and make jokes.

I think people just call it slow because unlike other time travel shows, the characters are taking time to understand and create a time machine, before the time travel nonsense begins rather than just getting the power and rocking with it

Yeah he’ll enjoy it later but y’all need to be honest and understand that dudes brain is completely checked out at the moment, at least when he doesn’t understand stuff he’ll still crack a few jokes during the reaction but it’s clear he’s either in a bad mood or bored out of his mind. I think the only thing the sub has going for it is the engrish, this show always gave me nightmares in the dub because it felt more real and less anime. But they already started so let them be, I'm sure they will understand at their own pace.

I've not seen it explained but the joke about daru being a hacker is slight different between subs. the one I remember was hacker vs Hack and another was Hacka. weird choice for how they do it in some of the subs as just slightly different spelling.

He's probably talking about Spooky action, quantum teleportation. A hongkong physicist I think clocked it at least 4x the speed of light. Since there are some theories that exceeding the speed of light of can let you time travel. But it doesnt seem to denote any kind of time travel thus far.

Everyone fighting about sub or dub on this, let's be honest both are great. I just prefer sub because the VA goes hard. The story is just meant to be confusing for the first couple of episodes. Anyone who's lost, keep with it and then come back and watch these first episodes once you know everything; it'll make a lot more sense and you'll realize that it's setting up important groundwork for what's to come.

Few things to mention: 1) It’s not “them” that are remembering, it is just Okarin that is remembering the past events that were altered. 2) If you know how a time machine has been theoretically said to work then you would understand why the Banana becomes gel and why that person in the mission is said to have died. I wont say since it will be explained in the anime I think. 3) Every event that occurs branches of a new timeline, there is never a case where everyone is staying in the same timeline their entire lives. It is one of the possibilities people have used to try n explain the mandela effect. Altered memories of the past and such.

I think it would have been easier for you to react to this show if you had any knowledge of John Titor prior to it. Titor's story was pretty famous on the Internet in the 2000's. This might be the main element that blacked Lupa out of the story because, since it's a real "historical" event from the real world (I'm not saying Titor really existed, he's most likely just a very intelligent troll, calm your tits skeptics), it's not explained by the anime. They just throw it as the viewer assuming most people would have at least heard about it.
