Well now it is easy to tell shadows from real people. Just stab their shadows!

hyakimaru dono

Bruhhhh that moment was dragged outt

Peacefinder Simply

this show is nuts, i'm not happy how its stuck on disney+ japan only ); making it really hidden

mitch anderson

Man I was LOST when that giant shadow showed up 💀💀💀

Destiney Marie

The thumbnail says it all😭✋🏽

Ryder LS

I kinda don't like that the major threat is just some magic evil loli, other than that everything else is crazy

Mozart Waddell

I was mad confused. Do anyone know if there's a manga for Summertime Rendering?

Peacefinder Simply

might be a answer to that, this seems extremely well thought out so far so I wouldn't doubt there could be a good reason for that.

A1_MiLFshAkE

This episode is living rent-free in my head fr. Makes me happy more and more people over time have started this series

Ara Araragi

Nagumo Ryuunosuke is the author of the novel Shinpei was reading on his way to the island, and the plot of the book is similar to what's happening with the Shadows. Shinpei originally convinced himself the first loop was just a dream inspired by the book. Also, when we saw her leaving a message in episode 2, she mentioned that she ate some narezushi before boarding the ferry (which means it happened before the loop checkpoints), but now she's saying she's never tried it.

Lola

Thanks for the reaction! This show gets crazier each episode. Also, I'm looking forward to your reactions of Magi! Hopefully it will win the next poll!

Graylonknight

I binged the manga after episode 2 and it’s so good my favorite time travel series honestly

Charlie baker

Cant wait for more komi

Peacefinder Simply

I hope your right, and in another comment please don't confirm or deny, that is a spoiler for some people

zILovePelmeni _

why would it be a spoiler ? its officially confirmed that ep 25 is the series finale... this episode was chapter 30 to 33 or sth

MaybeNextTime

THIS SHOW BRO. UNDERRATED. ONE OF THE BEST THIS SEASON 🙌

Polygon

"Nagumo Ryuunosuke" is the name of Shinpei's favorite author. That's why he knew her name. The anime did a poor job conveying this. There's some foreshadowing lost in translation here for non-Japanese speakers. In episode 2 when "Nagumo Ryuunosuke" is recording herself on her phone, she uses the personal pronoun "watashi", which is a more feminine way to refer to oneself. However, last episode and this episode, she uses "boku" as her personal pronoun, which is more masculine and often associated with young boys. She's also speaking incredibly politely to Shinpei when she, as the elder, should be speaking casually. Then, after being shot, she switches back to using "watashi" and her tone and speaking pattern completely change and she starts speaking to Shinpei informally. A bit more obvious here is that she then refers to "Ryuunosuke" in the 3rd perosn as if she wasn't them. Just something to keep in mind for anime only wathers.

THIS SHOW SO FREAKING GOOD OH MY GOSH

Erica Collins

Same lmao I was like oh hell no I'm walking back down the stairs if I was him 💀 rip to everyone who died but I cannot do this 😭😭😭😭

Erica Collins

Bruh when that shadow demon thing showed up I was like oh hell no Shin is better than me bc I would've turned my ass right back around & went down them steps lmao rip to the homies but that's when I give up being the mc sorry 💀😭😭

Vayne

The shadows swallowing the Islanders reminded me of that one Mario Sunshine area where u fight the shadow manta bro that shit was ass

Maxine

I think Shiori is the one who killed Ushio when she was "drowning," not Shadow Ushio

Maxine

Yep, I think she has a twin sister (or working with a Shadow her that doesn't realize she's a shadow, like Ushio); cuz we see her die near the shrine by Mio without much intervention from Shin and our Mio, so maybe she's been dying still and her messages bring her twin sis to finish the job?

Maxis Holst

someone made a video on this show and they had a title on it that was literally so true his title was "re:zero but under a different title"

SuperflyAlex

Yes, it’s got some short chapters and some very long but so far it’s been a perfect copy besides a little less gory and shower scene with mio entire body showing

HgAlice

Its definitely possible, some part of the manga can be kinda useless filler or is just really short so its possible, if you want to know, Chapter 1 of the Manga was the entirety of Episode 1... yet Ep 2 was like Ch 2 to Ch 7 which is around 5 chapters... this episode covered Ch 16 to 20... so averaging 5 chapters an episode which is enough for all 25 ep if some scenes gets removed for more consistent one

rickie woodson

who says she's a shadow?????????

HgAlice

It was a bit sad that you didn't catch Nagumo Ryuunosuke part where Shinpei called her a novelist and that they even showed the Book "Swampman" by Nagumo Ryuunosuke in the same episode XD but whatever and yea, they have been referencing her since like episode 2 all the way to her name drop. Great reaction as always <3

Mario Huizar

Don’t wanna be that guy but anyone know when Stein Gate is supposed to start dropping?

DatKid_Kaneki

i feel like this is completely different from re:zero it just has the concept of dying and coming back further and further

Garlic

Sheera yelling "KYS" gave me call of duty xbox flashbacks

Mist

yea i hope they read this by the next ep

Jay

theres gonna be 25 episodes. its gonna be a looooong ride

yasmina C

it shoulda also said 'but not isekai' 'cause this isnt lol

Sylanna Maxwell

She is a shadow because she reformed herself from the merged shadows. She even had her arm broken and it reformed.

Louie Z

Hehe. "Blow my brains out." -Lupa-san 2022. This show has the same vibes as Shiki. Y'all wanna consider watching that after this? IMO, it's the only horror anime that legit made me feel terror.

Ethan

So, is Toki a traitor and working with the shadows then? Plus, Shou's dad?

Mozart Waddell

What do shadows and Pillar Men have in common? They both hate to have their shadows stepped on 🥁😉

Axcension

She Has Color of Observation?

EZ

Jesus the thumbnail , guess I gotta watch these

Gate

reminded me of Dark Sakura in Heaven's Feel

baja

I was wondering why she put her and ryuunosuke in the same sentence

baja

I think i figured out what happened to ushio, she was saving little girl shadow who was there as bait, little girl copied her before going unconscious. ushio shadow strangled her real ushio before drowning. Survived, woke up with amnesia

Liudmila Duk

day 16 saying that the trio react to kanata no astra

EZ

bro this some final ep shit wtf lol

N1ckv3n

If you remember Nagumo Ryuunosuke is the author who wrote the book that Shinpei says he read a few days before arriving on the island, and which talks about the very same thing that is happening on the island (This is said in episode 2 if I'm not mistaken), and Nagumo Ryuunosuke is the girl with the shotgun who looks like she can see a small part of the future (as we saw in this episode before she was shot from the shadow). I wrote this because you may not have noticed that she is the author.

Patcharapol Arunwatthanangkul

i just realized from rewatch with you guys that the tits woman Nagumo is the author of that weird book about these shadow shit he read on the ferry at the beginning of the story

These Plums

I just finished the manga this weekend and the number of clapped moments we will get from the trio is going to be recorded breaking.

These Plums

Let the Clappening begin!

Maxis Holst

im interested in what you mean by that? your reffering to the shadow monsters that are the minions?

Rob

I think that after the shadow killed Ushio and scanned her she felt bad and turned on the shadows and some how got the eye and gave it to Shinpei because she need someone outside of the island to stop the invasion

Infinity

the limit is he can prolly only go back so far so he's on a time limit. everytime he's died he lived a lil longer and started later into his loops. Just my guess tho.

Ghoullie

in this episode or the last, the main gang commented that they thought the little girl had killed Ushio and not her Shadow. Idk if thats how its gonna eventually pan out, but it would make sense -- pretend you're drowning, strangle her in the water.

Drake Rage

Yeah, Shiki was pretty scary. It is harder for animation to scare people, so that anime deserves that much more recognition to still scare me, lol.

Drake Rage

With Tokiko it seemed like it could have been a hostage situation, but the Doctor seemed like he knew a lot more about what is going on. (The man is hanging out with a shadow sitting in a wheelchair, **WTF**)

Drake Rage

Ushio's Shadow didn't even know she was a Shadow, she believed she was Human. I wonder if it was from her memories. Like when the Shadow copied her, whatever feelings/memories that Ushio had was so strong/intense that it managed to brainwash the Shadow to feel the same way. That would be really dope.

Lémohn

We've gone full SCP now

JO.10473_

My theory is, the Shadow Ushio killed the real Ushio, but then immediately "drowned". The drowning probably affected her memory of the situation which is why she thinks she isn't dead or a shadow then she wakes up on the beach probably across the island.

HIM

You can really hear the Tanjiro voice all throughout this episode lol
