Yeah that’s probably my favorite detail of this episode that can get lost on a first viewing. It would be easy to read her as worried he’ll like the other girl, but in reality she trusts him, and not only that, but she herself knows how attractive his kindness can be after what they’ve been through, she knows Koga might develop feelings the same way she did

Someone catching cold from minor situations is always funny in anime but a bit of context here, they had to walk all the way home while Koga was drenched. She coundn't go on trains or take a taxi while being drenched apparently.

You're partially right, it is a virus but cold weather can facilitate the spread of the virus. Rarely comes into play in the anime situations though.

Anime obviously exaggerates it, but cold weather and being wet does contribute to a weakened immune response which can in turn contribute to viral spread.
