They probably should have planned things out better and placed the breaks after Neko (black) and Hanamonogatari, instead of stopping between Kizu and Nisei. The author planned the series out to be three "seasons" consisting of 6 books each (everything they've watched so far, plus Neko Black, is considered "season 1"), with each season having a pretty clear structure (season 1 being the establishing stories, while season 2 and 3 have gimmicks that separate them from each other). So if you're going to take a break, those are the best times to do it. But there's no real way they could have known that going in blind. I do hope they do all of season 3 at once, though. So Owarimonogatari isn't split up.

All the jokes about needing to call the cops on Araragi are pretty ironic considering both his parents are police officers.

It's lost in translation, but Rousokuzawa and Mizudori (Tsukihi and Karen's boyfriends) have really, really dumb names that sound like someone made them up on the spot. English equivalents would be something like "Candlebert and Waterson" (Tsukihi 月火 and Karen 火憐 both have "fire 火" in their names, which is why they're the fire sisters).

Nise is definitely the more "contested" arks. If memory serves, it had a different director from the rest of the stories. Not that Bakemonogatari didn't have its share of disturbing moments, but it get's noticeably better, especially when it starts to focus more on the other characters.

You're probably thinking of Oishi, the new co-director starting with Nise. The old co-director was Itamura, who was busy working on Kizumonogatari for five years (he's the guy responsible for the more grotesque shots and weird live-action images, which is why Bake has so many compared to later seasons). Oishi's around for the rest of the franchise. Shinbo's still the main director for all of Monogatari, though (he's the headtilt guy).

First of all, as always, I'm loving your rection to the series. It's a nice contrast for someone who is watching the series for a 3rd time (i dont usually rewatch anything but this series is one of a kind when it comes to that imo). After next episode I will give my thoughts on Araragis "sexual harassment" as it will have a VERY important moment for this argument. That being said please watch Kuroneko before you take a break (or maybe you wont take a break *pretty please*) because it's a much, much better place for a stopping point.

the reason Karen and Tsukihi seemingly getting taller is bc Araragi stopped seeing them like little kids and has more respect for them as people after the last arc, therefore they now look like their actual heights instead of what he saw it as. idk if thats correct but i remember seeing that somewhere and it seems like it fits.
