IIRC, it was much later in the season people started getting really vocal about it. I vaguely remember him having a big heroic moment of some sort later in the season. That's when people started getting pissy that they still thought he was evil. (but it's been forever and I'm not a big enough fan of the show to even remember much of the first season, so I could be wrong)

Since they won't mention it in the anime, the reason he was excited at looking at the night sky was because in his world all natural tree's were destroyed and the night sky was polluted to point of the night sky being nonexistent beyond being shown in games.

I know this is an unpopular opinion but I really can’t stand overlord, which is a shame cause I’ve only heard and seen good things. However, it’s personally impossible to appreciate it because of how much of a power fantasy this is and how ‘great’ ainz is at everything and is in the eyes of all the supporting characters a great than martyr thop. So I ask, does this ever stop? Because I would love to finish watching this.

Wouldn't say that the "how 'great' Ainz is" sentiment really stops because that's how the NPCs are programmed (it actually becomes pretty funny after a while). However, as the seasons progress you get to see the interactions with people outside of Nazarick and they're pretty refreshing. But again, one of the main pillars of the anime is how Ainz is like a god so...try it out a bit more and see if you can get past it? If not, then it's no biggie lol, not everyone has to like the show :) hope that helps

From what I can see, everyone is trying to clarify the situation with Aura and Mare but nobody had explained the "bitch" thing yet, so I shall do so! In Japanese slang, the word "bitch" isn't used like we do here in the US, they use it as a word to mean "slut". So in Albedos' backstory, her creator had written that in public she was a dignified, cool, classy leader but behind closed doors she was a wild slut who did everybody. Momonga was flabbergasted at that and erased that line, then because it was in a similar vein, he decided to replace with that she was in love with him.

So just to clarify somethings as I don’t believe they are explained. Mononga is trying to figure out how to be a leader which is why he asked them what they thought of him, this way he could try and shape expectations. Also with Albedo I’m pretty sure it’s miss translation but she was supposed to be willing to sleep with anyone pretty much but Mononga changed it to only him

That's funny because the first time they watched it they thought he was sketchy AF and fan base flamed them for it non-stop telling them stop being so suspicious of characters and etc. It actually got really toxic and one of the main reasons why the stopped watching it.

Ainz isn't "great" at everything, they just think he is because he's God to them. So no they won't stop worshipping him, and it wouldn't make sense if they did. That doesn't mean Ainz is presented as perfect in the series, he's far from it, he's just insanely OP and happened to surround himself with very intelligent allies that make his life easier.

A big problem with the overlord anime is that a ton of explanation that was in the books was cut from the anime. So, a lot of stuff you'll either have to piece together yourself or get help from comments. I hope people don't give you guys grief for missing things cause its super easy to with this anime or go super overboard with explanations. Regardless of whether you catch stuff or not I hope you all enjoy it.

He focused on Roleplay. he played the evil Overlord Momonga is still strong, but if you put him into a duel with another player.. ehh would be difficult for him Also the reason why he was the guild leader was because he had no beef with any other member. And info about the NPC and rewards. they don't crave rewards. working for a supreme beeing (momonga) is reward and purpose enough

I think that Ainz *wasn't* OP compared to the other players in the game. They focused on the meta of the game and he focused on roleplay. But now that the world is real, everything that they have effects the world as it would if the spells were real. For instance, instead of using a spell and doing x amount of damage in hp, the spell would hit and do the damage you'd expect it to as if it were real. So potentially if Ainz is built for roleplay, he could be stronger depending on what his abilities do.

If I remember correctly this work functions like the game He is op in the world because they are all so fucking low level. And yeah of cource it's also real damage and not just loosing hp I am not sure of he is stronger than in the game though. Maybe Well yeah he is kind of. His spells that create undead do not have a time limit anymore when a corpse is involved

He kinda was OP tho, even if his build was mid af; he cheesed the shit out of the game MECHANICS, which he know all of them like the back of his own hand, so he'd intentionally lose the 1st round of every Duel, then beat the opponent's ass by cheesing the mechanics once he knows his opponent's hand since he knows literally every mechanic, not just his own skills/magic, gear & racials

Yeah from what I remember from the books Ainz was definitely not a top tier PvP player, but he was still above average. IIRC a number of his guild mates (Touch Me and Takemikazuchi?) were definitely much better at PvP than Ainz. Most of his strength right now is just that he's like 80 levels above all of these people lol

Ainz did actually erase the fact that Albedo was a "bitch", but it translates more accurately here to "slut" basically her creator liked that idea and created her to look pure and beautiful but also be promiscuous. Ainz thought that didn't fit her looks and deleted it replacing it with the "is in love with momonga" thing.

Well Mob Psycho is a bit different. From what I remember, Mob was a very powerful esper, but struggled a lot with other aspects of his life and his naivety could even bite him in the ass at times. Some villains also put up a decent fight. Ainz and his gang are straight up uber powerful, but I'd say the show is more than just a power fantasy. The reason I enjoy shows like this and Slime are mainly the interactions between the main characters and the rest of the world. It's interesting to see Ainz and the people of Nazerick get involved with the rest of the world and its politics, stabilizing/destabilizing nations, settling conflicts, and expanding their influence. I love that the show often focuses on its supporting cast, rather than Ainz himself, and their own ventures outside Nazerick. They get their own little arcs and you end up getting invested in them and the weaker NPCs they meet. Of course, there is occasionally the power fantasy aspect with Ainz, but that's sorta like a frosting for me. Granted, it's been almost 4 years since I watched it when I was in highschool, but I have pretty fond memories of it. Not a masterpiece, but a pretty enjoyable show

There is a complexity behind the writing of Overlord beyond simple power fantasy. Ainz knows full well how human and flawed he is and makes plenty of mistakes, but he sees the guardians as the legacy of his guildmates, their 'children', and refuses to betray their great expectations, which leads to some interesting situations, from tragic to hilarious. That said, you get a genuine sense the they are part of the world and not the centre of it, unlike some other stories where if the main character isn't involved then nothing moves.
