"theres the romance" prepare to realize how wrong you are next episode.

Angel Guerrero

Have you not seen the show? Keyleth and Vax do become partners, and don't even get me started on the original Critical Roll campaign. Just because it doesn't happen in the next episode doesn't mean it's not significant.

Kano

I ain’t finna lie soon as I saw it pop up I clicked been waiting on this 😭

Bad Wolfy

Here we gooooooooo!!!!

Sera

Been meaning to watch this

Adam Gleaton

hell yeah 🙏🔥

Drippalo21

When is monogatari coming back

Lola

I didn't watched it and hesitated to do so, but I guess I'll try it with you all! Let's see what everyone has been talking about

Jnutt913

You guys should react to Yellowjackets. I don’t think it’s you guy’s usual type of show but it’s insane.

Lola

When you're done with this one, you should try Kuroko no Basket! Another fun ride!

Jose Ovalle

Roll critical roll critical

SupremeCai

LETS GOOOO. FYI to answer your question/curiosity Roshi this is from Critical Role (specifically season 1) which is a dungeons and dragons podcast basically with a bunch of voice actors (pretty famous ones too that you've probably heard). They're currently on season 3 of Critical Role, but yea they did a kickstarter a while back to get this shit animated and smashed records. That plus the hype got amazon to sign them for I'm pretty sure 2/3 seasons.

LeFlaneur

haha another show they got bullied into watching, I love the patreons

MaybeNextTime

Yes sir!!! Let's goooo

Grelk

Pog

Joshua Burns

Yo I’m so happy rn I can’t wait to get home 😂😂

Erd'na

Holy Moly!!!! For anyone who doesn't know. This is just a d&d campaign that is turn into a show.

jesse almonte

I'm surprised how easy it is to bully them into watching stuff

Jackie Gibson

I did not expect them to react to this, but I'm glad they did.

Markus Antonius

Yo what???? This is crazy I wasn’t expecting you guys to react to this! Just so you know critical role is a dnd stream group, they have like 6-7 years of content on YouTube that I am in the middle of catching up on lol still in campaign 1 ep. 50 this season is like an adaptation of their first campaign

jesse almonte

Yo Roshi with the typo

Art of Trolling

They definitely got bullied into watching this 😂. Unfortunately it’s goin be those same people who Harass them in the comments ,because they disagree with their takes on the show.

BoxHead

YES YES YES FINALLY IM SO HAPPY 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭

Antonio Williams

Aqualad's voice actor must've said "I'mma be the king of somewhere."

Joseph

Ya it’s good but it definitely overrated mostly cause of invincible being amazing and this looking a little similar in art style

Lola

Not that easy but they gotta go with the trend sometimes plus since it's a short show it's not a big commitment

Anonymous

AYYYEEEEE I JUST FINISHED THIS SHOW 2 DAYS AGO

Asad Khabir

YESSS! Literally screamed when I saw this pop up

Blind 3D

This is why you guys are the best reaction channel made my night 😭

DABSLABOG

Reacher is dope I feel like that would be a sheera roshi show if they watch it

rickie woodson

everyone jumping on the vox train. wish they would just make a rat queens series. that comic is so freaking good. sisters doing it for themselves. and one of them IS a sista with her gorgeous afro

DoobieSam

How about Dororooooo

Doughboy 1027

Wasn't feeling this show. Its pretty mid.

Kevin Campos

Everyone jumping on Vox but everyone ignores Scissor Seven on Netflix…

Erd'na

Roshi just to clarify again. This show is inspired by d&d streaming group called critical role. It became a kickstarter campaign because people wanted their adventures animated. Vox Machina is their 1st campaign and here's their episode if you are curious. https://youtu.be/i-p9lWIhcLQ

sotonye ogan

the show looked aight to me, watched it until episode 3 wasnt feeling it to make me watch more, but with you niggas reacting then im geeked now😂

Ashton Ellsworth

...yes.......yes..........YYYYEEEESSSSSS!!!

KevinFromNewYork

This is the one reaction group that might make me enjoy this show

Trell

I knew it was coming sooner or later lol

Stuart Hanmore

Anyone know the schedule for this? once a week or twice?

Matthew Osteen

The voice cast for this is incredible by the way. It's got Jotaros voice actor and Ellie from the last of us. Also, the king is Kaldur from young justice.

Liam

What's the release schedule for this?

Ara Araragi

The "clever play on words" is that Vox Machina is Latin for "voice machine," which is a nod to the main cast all being professional voice actors in real life.

Smash Bran'Discootch

The reason Scanlan was tuning his lute at the end is because he is a Bard. His magic literally relies on him singing or playing some sort of instrument. To Scanlan, tuning his lute is the equivalent of someone else sharpening their sword or racking a shotgun. So "Vox Machina" means "Voice Machine". It's a play on words because the original people that played this DND campaign were all voice actors. Grog's VA is Travis Willingham who you would know as ROY MUSTANG in Fullmetal Alchemist. Vax's VA is Liam O'Brien who you would know as Gaara in Naruto and Asura in Asura's Wrath. Scanlan's VA is Sam Riegel who you would know as Pheonix Wright. Percy's VA is Taliesin Jaffe who you would know as The Flash in the Injustice games. Pike's VA is Ashley Johnson who you would know as Ellie in The Last Of Us 1&2. Vex's VA is Laura Bailey the Queen of VO who you would know as Kid Trunks in DBZ, Lust in Fullmetal Alchemist, Kait Diaz in Gears of War, Shin Chan, and Abby in The Last Of Us 2. This series is based on Critical Role's first Dungeons and Dragons campaign. Just a bunch of self proclaimed nerdy ass voice actors who started streaming their home DND game which quickly rose to be the most popular dungeons and dragons stream in existence. Campain 1 centers around Vox Machina and is roughly 500 hours of content. During their second campaign, they decided to start a kickstarter to just make a short special of animated vox machina. In the first hour they'd raised over a million dollars. It broke records for how much money they ended up raising. I wanna say it was somewhere around 11million. Enough to produce a series. Then Amazon got on board and gave them 2 more episodes and they've already been renewed for a second season. The whole story of this is so amazing. Critical Role is now on their 3rd campaign and the fact that this got made and that it was the FANS that made it happen is just incredible. Each of the characters are voiced by the people who played them in the original dnd game and this season covers one arc of that campaign. Somewhere around 30is episodes are what this season covers. The first two episodes are very much an introductory and cover some things that happened in their home game before they started streaming. So a lot of this, you're gonna be like, "wtf?" because since it's based on a DND game sometimes things just DONT work out for the characters. Sometimes they fail. And they've done a really good job at displaying some of the DND mechanics in the show.

Anonymous

Had no idea yall were bullied into watching this. But I'm sure you'll have fun! Really enjoyed this one

SimplyMocha

OH YEA? We doing Vox Machina!

Panda

Man I'm so happy you all are finally watching this. Between you watching CR content(in a way) and the RTTV podcast, this has been an awesome week of watching content creators i enjoy collab. Much appreciated Roshi!

Sam

Yes! Thanks guys, I fricking love this show and am keen to see what you all think. I will admit that I'm biased towards it though cause I've watched/am watching their campaigns and backed their Kickstarter.

Ohais

"Legenf" Nice one Roshi lol

MaybeNextTime

Yo. I've seen the new Reacher too. Much better than Tom Cruise's but prob a duo thing

Robert Chacha

this man sent glasses flying

Smash Bran'Discootch

lol nah Khary Payton is good friends with all of them and has actually been on Critical Role a few times as Shakkasta. There's no way he'd miss out being a part of this.

Smash Bran'Discootch

Also Kid Trunks, Shin Chan, Kait Diaz, Abby from Last Of Us 2(all the same person), Gaara, Pheonix Wright, Barry Allen. All of them reprising their role as their own dnd characters.

Smash Bran'Discootch

"The adventure begins they were always beside you, your nerdy best friends and the DM to guide you!"

Anonymous

Yeah this was a kickstarter that did really well based off a D&D campaign the group Critical Role did. The main characters are voiced by their players. They have a wonderful cast voicing the other characters and its been very popular for a few years now. Amazon already green lit a second season when they picked up the show. So if any of you like Dungeons and Dragons, I recommend looking into Critical Role sometime.

Salmonero

Yeah this pretty much explains all of it 👏 Just started watching too, and I'm hyped to see where the story goes!

Anonymous

YASSSSSS! Been quite for over a year but will comment for this show! I hope you enjoy as much as I did! Much love fam!

Thilde

Fun show that gets better with each episode. The first 2 are kinda slow (atleast they were for me) but after that I was fully onboard. Some of the comments here are hating without having seen the show lmao

Lurkingposter

So, this has already been explained but I'm going to, hopefully, provide more context. This series is based on a popular story arc from Critical Role campaign 1 (They are currently on campaign 3). Critical Role started as a weekly Dungeons and Dragons home game among a friend group of veteran voice actors (they've done voices from video games like the Last of Us and Overwatch to anime like Dragonball Z and Naruto). They started livestreaming their home game and it exploded in popularity, with each weekly video stream getting over a million views. They launched a Kickstarter for an animated special and set a record by raising over 10 million dollars. They signed a deal with Amazon to produce a full series. The animation is done by Titmouse and the character design is done by the guy that did Young Justice and other animated DC properties. Speaking of Young Justice, the voice of Aqualad plays the king. He also appears as a guest character in their campaign 2 live streams. As a fan of Critical Role (we are called Critters), I found this show good but not great. Although, I think this is a show that you guys will enjoy. Campaign 1 was very archetypal fantasy. In campaigns 2 and 3 (each campaign is a standalone game with newly created characters) they get much more experimental.

Marko

Hmmm its a little bit too much "12 year old edge lord" with some of the writing and the humor for me HOWEVER I want to continue watching for the sole reason of yalls amazing reactions. I could literally watch yall react to paint drying and yall would find some way to make it hilarious LOL

IzanagiAce

Trust me Episode 3 and further gets WAY better in terms of writing and humor

Anonymous

Some people seem confused on the popularity of this show, it's not that it's hyped up as one of the most amazing shows ever made, instead it's pretty much layered with all the d&d vibes, people who stuck with and watched through Critical Role during their campaigns can appreciate this adaptation much more than people who haven't seen any of their streams (not to say you can't enjoy it regardless) but yeah, I definitely would never call this show "overrated," it's literally just a show made for a super nerdy ass audience of people like myself who can always appreciate the experience of something like d&d sessions with your friends, and for that I give this show a 10, sorry for the paragraph.

Vexxed

I am so sorry but this show seems too good im going to have to watch it ahead. You cant even blame me

Kevon, The Lord of Slimes

I'm so happy they are watching this. Been CR fan for a while and felt like they'd enjoy the show itself.

Smash Bran'Discootch

With a name like Vexxed of COURSE we cant blame you. I'm really glad you're liking it this much after the first episode. The first two are the slowest but the REAL show starts at episode 3. You're in for a wild ride friendo!

Argo2Unitard

The first five minutes sort of threw me off because of how forced everything seemed, but I came to enjoy the show as a whole. I do think the first season should have focused on a more neutral storyline so that we get to know the characters better before diving deeper into their grievances and ticks. And The relationships between the characters could have been developed more thoroughly for people who aren't CR fans. And the story kind of played off like a DnD campaign rather than a more coherent plot so I hope that gets worked on in later seasons. Also, the only experience I actually have with DnD is the Harmontown podcast so my view of the game is already skewed.

Smash Bran'Discootch

Probably because LOVM has an already established fan base in the people who are fans of Critical Role and the show is brand new. Plus the fans are even more hyped because we helped bring it to life by donating to the kickstarter.

Lightning in a bottle

We need to get them to watch Super Crooks!!!!!! P.S. Love the reaction vids

Teyon Alexander

I think that guy on the council was looking at her because she was looking at him hard.

Jonathan smith

YOOOOOO GLA D YOURE REACTING TO THIS

Ultrawolf

Episode 3 man shit gets real

Lola

Lupa throwing his glasses away is always iconic and also HOW RESISTANT ARE THOSE GRASSES like bruh

Kekeke 7

I LOVE THIS SHOW CANT WAIT FOR MORE REACTIONS

bandi138138

First 2 episodes can be rough, cuz it's an original story. But starting episode 3, it follows the plot of the stream, and much more cohesive in tone. I understand if it's not your liking, but I really hope you guys stick with this one. I've been a fan of Critical Role since 2015, and as your fan I would love to continue watching your reactions.

Anonymous

Bruh, wtf did I just watch? 😂

LordTouchMe

Man, watched this several time already and each time is still as good as the first! I'm so giddy you guys finally got to this, and I'm glad we're gonna get to see you embark on this journey through season 1!

Smash Bran'Discootch

Nah, it's not an original story. The first two episodes cover things that happened in their home game before they started streaming.

bandi138138

Scanlan tuning his lute may seem very inappropriate, but he's a bard, who casts magic through music. For him, that was the equivalent of sharpening a sword or loading a gun.

NeoSpotLite

Is the outro music a remix of the opening of To Your Eternity?

BZD

Loving the Gnome and the Druid. In my last campaign, I played as a Gnome Druid named Frothfy.

SirFappington

Nah I think it's the theme from critical role campaign 2 and I believe it came out before To Your Eternity.

J C

wow im surprised you guys would even watch this. you're in for a treat. Random animation is best animation

aj

seeing all the critters in the comments is pretty cool

Anonymous

Bro This some bs where magi at forget this 🤣

Trent Ward

Why does Ezekiel play every black cartoon character🤣

Dayta13

I'm dead. The characters in the beginning were literally the characters from LOTR.

TheDroppedFry

From what I'm seeing, it seems like this show is mirroring a D&D adventure, considering how many times the characters fuck up, their odd behaviors and quicks and personalities, their inability to live up to most forms of 'heroic' standards.

Zakki

Not just mirroring, the show is literally based on a streamed D&D campaign by Critical Role lol This first season (they already greenlit a 12 eps. second season) is the second arc of their first campaign back in 2015. They are currently streaming their third campaign

Anonymous

Lupa had the right of it, this show is based on a Dungeons & Dragons campaign. The very short version: Critical Role is a VERY popular D&D streaming group. This show is based on their first campaign, which they were in the middle of when they started streaming. The first two episodes adapt some stuff from before they started streaming. They ran a Kickstarter to fund a single animated special, and ended up with enough money to fund an entire season, this is the result. All of the players in Critical Role are professional voice actors, so they are acutally voicing their own characters in the show. The DM is also a famous voice actor, so he takes a lot of the minor roles as well as one big one, who turns up at the end of episode 2. Welcome aboard, have a fun ride.

haywood banks

Vox Machina, their name, means Voice Machine and is a reference to all of them being famous voice actors which ironically is one of the few things the fans didn't really care about in terms of lore and that's where the joke came from

Candy

the voice on one of the character sounds familiar the elfe one

callum brodie

YOO just binged this show and my first thought was "I wonder if roshi and the group will react to this" So happy!

Chuzo

i love how lupa is so unprepared for how dark this series is gonna get lol

slipHAZARD

the show is just kinda "meh" to me, I really dont understand all the hype. That being said, I do look forward to their reactions.

HalfroSamurai

I think Critical Role is just really popular. So the show had a built in fan base spreading the word. I think it's fine, but feels worse coming after Arcane.

Bosastar

Been waiting for y’all’s reaction to this

Don Keedick

So no Hinamatsuri, huh? feelsbadman.

Evan Jenkins

This one starts really goofy, but I can't wait to see how you like it by the end.

Tug

For people that are Confused this show is a love child of The Crew over at Critical Role that stream their DnD show yo 10s of thousand of people every thursday. The First 3 episodes are from when they still played at home before the First stream so the story telling and characters introduced is kind of rushed. But later 4-12 are Based on the white stone ark which is like stream episode 45 or something when starts. But Just know that Matthew Mercer( plays levi in the English dub of AoT) Created this beautiful world and DMed it to all his other nerdy voice actor friends whom you've probably heard in a shit ton of games and animation. Either way Critical role is a master piece and LoVM is a absolute fun watch cant wait for the reactions

Gate

im a total anime dork, but dnd nerds are just beyond me lol

AnEnthusiasticKoala

gonna be honest this show is pretty mid so far

Anonymous

do we have a schedule for this series to release yet?

Anonymous

i'm so happy you will react to this

Ethan J Soto

So hype that you guys are reacting to this

Vsquad

Acnologia busted they ass

A.D.Z

Never watched and im 300% hyped

TheRoyalHat

i guess im early >:)

Richard

the little one pike is voiced by ashley johnson (ellie from thelast of us) but theyre all voice actors that play DnD together and brought their campaign to anime

CKC

S/o to the critters in the comments! I loved this reaction and can’t wait to see y’all check out the rest of season 1!

Oliverson

Bidet!

Dalton Hawes

Yeah its hard to explain but some of the actions and things that happen they are adapting from their DnD campaign where they rolled bad or rolled very good. So they are basically trying to stay true to the original stream. *Hard to explain or at least i dont know how to explain it well lol.

Lamaree Jackson

Always good to hear Black Aquaman/Manta/Samson/Lightning’s voice

Paulothy

I had a feeling this might be based on DnD when it started in the Tavern, but the bard's introduction solidified my suspicion lol

James

Yo, I was sleep before but not anymore; this show is insane.

Reckless Company

If i was fighting someone and they somehow puked in my month congrats u won and im going to jail for brutal assault and possible murder lol

Shiroja

You guys will love this show it is so good it gets better as it goes

CJButter 41122

Yooo I was litterally talking about this show in yalls discord saying how much I hoped yall would react to it a week before it came out and I freaked when I saw this good shit!!!

Foxyguava

this is not a reaction i expected. thanks a bunch for the pleasant surprise.

Hipuno

I came to patreon just to see you guys watch this

Abstract Dread

We need more of this😂😂🤣👌

Lena Kielk

Now through you guys I can finally watch this show, thanks!!!

marvin johnson

yo u guys have to watch the rest of the season

David Emerson

Im surprised you guys didn't recognize Aquaman's (Kaldur) voice from Young Justice. He was the black Guy with crown in the Council. I heard it immediately

Whamz Rose

Bro, is that fucking Gaara? 🤣

MDLNubes

Korra and her Dog in the wrong show

Drake Rage

I am only 17 mins in but let me make a "prediction," I do hope I get it wrong since it is better for a mystery to stay a mystery to be slowly unraveled as the story progresses, lol. So, the "Elf" girl heard the same noise in the throne room, now she hears it hear right after they discover that the "Dragon?" turned into a Human (footsteps)... so the obvious guess would be that the "monster" they are looking for was present in the throne room. Edit: The girl attacking the "Lightning" Dragon with a Lightning attack.... was really fucking dumb. I would understand if she had made some other type of mistake or had low stamina like the Healer cause of being "out of practice" but using Lightning, on what seems to be, a Lightning Dragon is way too stupid.
