Jah

I’m here for it

James

Every time you reference Game of Thrones I get so upset that because of when it aired we didn't get reactions to it from you guys

Eliana

Bro this last episode was crazy asf, get chills every time I watch this battle. The mages we’re putting in WORK frfr

Sera

This episode is what truly made me love Yennefer

KapZachlan

Gotta watch Nightmare of the Wolf before season two, you'll be glad ya did

LeFlaneur

I’m happy for Roshi. He was asking for firaga all season and Yennefer does one better and unleashes Ifrit ™️ on 30000 guys who wished they’d called in sick that day.

Ethan

I get what you mean. But GOT started ageeees ago so they probably already started it before this channel. Plus tbf, up until recently this channel was anime only until they got comfortable dipping into live action shows they like and recording them.

James

Oh yeah, they probably started it many years ago for sure. I just wish game of thrones had somehow started this year because Roshi and crew reactions to it would have been insane lmao

MaybeNextTime

We gettin' the movie before season 2?

Teyon Alexander

Pauldrons. Palindromes are words that read the same backward and forward. :-) That said, I'd be down to put on some pauldrons just to say I gave it a shot. :D

DamienW.

Nightmare of the Wolf Nightmare of the wolf tomorrow????

yaboyroshi

ive tried to correct him since the God of War skit. He cant be helped lmao

Andre

Jump straight to episode 1 of season 2 tomorrow it’s 🔥🔥🔥🔥

Smash Bran'Discootch

My man says Palindromes every single time. And also calls every train car a caboose, when the caboose is just the last one. Gotta love Lupa lol he's good people.

rickie woodson

WE HERE! love this epic witch battle!!!!!!!!!!

Teyon Alexander

White Phosphorus bombs by the way. (yes, I just got to that part).

Julien Lacasse

The ''teeth'' are Ciri's knuckle bones (not those in her hands obviously). You saw her play the game with the poor children, last episode and on the first one too if a recall correctly.

Ethan

Lupa during the Red Wedding episode would've been absolutely shook xD

Stephen Delong

If you notice he says "Get him an ale before he goes to Sodden" Ciri was having future visions

logan

first one was renfri

rickie woodson

dont know what until dawn is but they are waaay too small and strauny to be wendigos based on how they look in the media i've seen them in (xmen comics, charmed, legacies). they look more like ghouls or anorexic white walkers

rickie woodson

i just noticed this. i wonder if that image the sigils created represent the three main characters? the wolf for geralt, the sparrow(?) for ciri and the starburst for yen. i mean stars are just suns and thats FIRE

Ethan

Until Dawn is a horror game that Sheera and Roshi played on stream, and they got absolutely shook lmao. But I think the things attacking Geralt are very similar to Nekkers in the games. Which are described as, " live in the dark woods that grow in damp, mist-filled valleys, in colonies of one to several dozen individuals. They dig deep burrows for lairs and connect them with a network of narrow tunnels.". They attack " in groups and by surprise. They try to surround their prey as quickly as possible". Plus in the games they're usually seen by bloody battlefields or near their nests.

Martín A. G.

who is yennefer basically means that they three are bond on destiny, not just Geralt and Ciri.

Ethan

You pretty much nailed it. Geralt is Gwynbleidd (Elder/elven speech for White Wolf). Ciri's is Zireael (Elder speech for Swallow as in the bird). Yen is The Obsidian Star, which is actually a pendent on her choker she always wears in the books and games. It was shown in a few scenes in the show but nowhere near as prominent and always displayed. Just go google Yen from the game and look at her neck to see it.

von

This episode was always so weird to me because vilgevortz is supposed to be peak of the verse in this shit

LeFlaneur

Noticed some weird choices with the camerawork and editing in this episode, and having some monster of the week mixed in with the battle of Sodden might not have been the best thing, but overall it was a fun finale.

Maxy7maxy

Geralt is linked by destiny to yen because of the djinn (thats the wish he made to djinn for their destinys to be linked) amd gerlat destiny is linked to ciri via the law of surprise meaning all three of their destiny are linked together probably why they sense each other sometimes and cant help bumping into each other

Kurt

Please react to the animated movie before season 2 as its really good and it ties it in perfectly

Noah Marshall

You gotta watch the nightmare of the wolf movie, it's semi-cannon and takes place before this.

Smash Bran'Discootch

Yeah bro, Cintra falling is literally directly because she didnt honor the law of surprise. If she had honored it, Cintra MAY have had a fighting chance against Nilfgard but since she didnt, they got clippity-clapped.

rickie woodson

that killed me lol i havent seen this ep in a minute and thought vigefortz would crack his head on a rock. when he his back hit that tree! BABY! i almost spilt my piping hot tea on myself lol STOP LUPA STOP!

matthew perry

was he really? so cahir wasn't supposed to have such an easy time with him?

Beef Gristle Mill

I'm kinda sad they made the live action version of triss so trash, not only is the casting of her pretty bad but she got clapped by some basic ass soldiers😩.

von

Inna books he washed geralt baddd the first time they fought by just using magic to amp his physical skills and nothing else, and when they rematched geralt had to jump him with his entire squad and vilgevortz not only was whooping them but killed one of the few members of that team that was stronger than Geralt by A lot, (A Higher vampire, one of the deadliest creatures in the witcher verse name Regis) easily and extremely brutally

von

Geralt only beat him thru luck and help from Fringilla, he’s even whooped the FUCK outta Yennefer and Tissia couldn’t even handle him

Asad Khabir

They are probably Ghouls. They are a type of monster from the game and in the books

Zodiac

Lupa's comment about Geralt seeing Ciri shit in the woods caught me so off guard I almost choked on my spit from laughing lmfaoooooo

Asad Khabir

'Viglefortz is going to die.' Lol

rickie woodson

the first person was rinfrey (chick from the first ep), then yen then his mom.

Asad Khabir

I love this show but I have to say they ruined the moment Ciri meets Geralt. In the book its goes like this Ciri: I'm your destiny? Say it! I am your destiny? Geralt: You are something more Ciri. Something more.

Asad Khabir

Also Roshi Sorceresses can still have children. Its just that the way the Brotherhood forces the potential socresses to sacrifice their uterus. Anyone not associated with them can still have children

rickie woodson

WAS he dreaming? magic can do anything including change memories, invisibility, illusions, time stopping all of which would explain how visenna was really there and the merchant didnt see her or doesnt remember her......but as for how she could have had geralt: he's super old so he could have been born 1. before the citadel was established 2. before the ascension ritual existed 3. she could have never went to magic school. he could also be adopted or she found a way to reverse it in some way like yen is looking for

Asad Khabir

Pretty sure that's how Battle of Sodden more or less goes in the book too

rickie woodson

they are linked by destiny and magic. thats how they are able to sense each other. that vision of geralt calling out to yennifer was a vision ciri was having, thats how she knows yen's name.

Umbra_Nex

Its pretty interesting how the "common sense" is that everyone croaked at 30 in the middle ages. I am pretty sure that the average age is that due to all the early deaths (childbirth and first couple years of life). If people lived past childhood, they had lifespans pretty similar to ours. Prob only 10 years or so less, since modern medicine can keep people alive through all kinds of crazy stuff... but living to 70s in the medieval ages probably was not as uncommon as people these days think.

Alfredo

SomeStupidGoat

theyre gonna watch it next, i cant wait

Yanpo

Lupa: "Is the logo going to turn into a wolf?" *Logo turns into a wolf* Lupa: "I did not see that happening." Lupa is so accustomed to Sheera being the one with the Sheeragan that he couldn't process that he saw that happening before it happened.

LeFlaneur

It varies a lot between socioeconomic status, country, and particular time period, but from different accounts it tended to be pretty low for the majority of people. -10 years our life expectancy would be more achievable for nobility, so not uncommon, but most people dying in their 40s-50s isn’t that much an exaggeration.

Donta’e Cade

Until Dawn is a decision based horror game and the monsters in it are called Wendigos and look exactly like the ghouls in this show

LeFlaneur

I actually like them choosing Shaffer, even if her looks veers from Triss canon appearance, but in season 2 they’ve made some choice to make her look more accurate, and oh boy it hurt my eyes. It’s kind of a situation where you can get a surprisingly good result if you ignore a mistake, but if you try to fix the mistake afterwards it just brings more attention to it in a bad way.

Beef Gristle Mill

I haven't seen season 2 yet and was just gonna watch it with them, but even tho she doesn't look like triss she didn't do a bad job, it's just weird after playing the games and seeing her not look like I know her. Or at least look similar in some aspect like how Henry cavil is a pretty convincing geralt, and the girl who plays yennefer looks really good, and the guy who pays jaskier (who's basically dandelion without the drip) is pretty good too.

matthew perry

fringilla used dimeritium, it's a rare metal that can block the use of magic. I remember it not being explained what it is very well here and didn't see an answer already.

Derrick B

Ahh yes, season 2! I liked season 1, but I loved season 2

TimTakDoh

the guy who found him, and took Geralt back to his home said "I have the law of surprise" which means something he has but doesn't yet know(Ciri at his home) so in essence "Destiny" was giving Geralt a 2nd chance at his law of surprise

Yanpo

I'm assuming it's a species of necrophage due to the proximity to a battlefield and the toxicity of the their bite, which is enough to kill a Witcher. However, it's appearance and behavior doesn't match any of the species of necrophage that appear in the games.

Dyno

Papa Geralt time.

Argo2Unitard

Lupa was actually close when he said those were teeth. They're knucklebones, probably from sheep. They used it as dice and it was a game Ciri liked to play with the street urchins.

Sean Ornelas-Linter

The timeline is strange, Yennifer was bought in 1206, in episode 1 we meet Geralt in 1231, Geralt meets Jaskier in 1240 and yells at him on the mountain in 1262, Cintra falls to Nilfgaard in 1263.

Ethan

Oh, damn at this point Geralt and Jaskier have known eachother for over 20 years? I thought it was just like 10 or so based on his comments int he Djinn episode. So, is Jaskier like in his 40s at this point?

Sean Ornelas-Linter

The years in the show are hard to figure out, I just googled them online to figure out what year it was for which character in each episode. Idk how old Jaskier is when we first meet him, but he's a couple decades older now. Also, the prequel animated Witcher movie on Netflix gives you an idea of how Witchers age, if you look up the years the movie starts and end at and use the dialogue to figure out ages.

Jake Thompson

Yeah it's pretty much like the Spartan training and augmentation in Halo. You gotta survive the training and then on top of that the enhancements and mutations will clap a chunk of em.

WH

To answer Roshi's question about Geralt's mother being able to have him, not all mages are sterile it's just that that's something you can be willing to sacrifice in order to get a shit ton of power like Yennefer did.

Anas Ghadfi

the first one was not his mom, it was renfri

ken_tka

this comment is unrelated to the video but like this comment if you fucking despise kryptonyte and osenbei

Nardoc

Vilgefortz nerfed HARD in this

Tim Chaos

Ohh that makes sense. I thought it was just Magic Pocket Sand

Skebaba

This, and as shown here, she's closer to a Druid than a Sorceress, I suppose (so think someone like Mousesack), which actually explains her world view, she prolly used to belong to a Circle somewhere in the world, no idea where tho

Lucas

As of the fall of Cintra, Geralt is 103 and Yennefer is 71 (the game ages seem to differ)

DragGuard

When a sorceress is "molded" it doesn't always make them infertile it's just a high chance of it happening that its uncommon for them to still be fertile afterwards. Fun fact Triss can still have children. Also they didn't really stick to the books or games lore on a lot of the stuff in the show.

Kermit

+1 for watching the animated movie before season 2. Covers a good portion of backstory.

Foxyguava

Everybody: Why their armor testicles? Lupa: Why is their armor so dope?

maurizio piras

You guys should watch Reacher.Fantastic show

VlSch

Fringilla should not be black, it's just a dumb Hollywood hypocrisy. She should look like Yennefer, making her black is stupid and contradicts the lore. Geralt had a love interest in Fringilla because her appearance is very similar to Yennefer (pale skin, blue eyes, black hair)

Astor Lefflinker

Just wanna say that I'm so glad this channel is reacting to this, because whenever they make a The Lord of The Rings or Game of Thrones reference, it feels its a shame that we didn't get to see them react to those fantasy epics, so I'm so glad that they're reacting to another fantasy that isn't an anime.

Astor Lefflinker

I'm not even gonna go into the race thing but this comment should be deleted because its a potential spoiler

Arc

Sheera: "That fking bitch, I don't trust her for a second. You gotta bounce." *Gerald shows up* Sheera: "YOU SHOULD'VE STAYED!!!" XD

Chey

that new outro tho! is it a remix of pink blood from hikaru utada? from to your eternity???

TimmSchmimm

Yeah Jaskier was a young lad at the beginning and even after these 20 years he didn't change, director just fucked up and forgot about it, it became a bit of a meme back then because fans that didn't read the books thought this is some crazy foreshadowing for jaskier beeing a secret mage or smth like that.

LeFlaneur

He repeats the same thing every episode Fringilla shows up. He doesn't really comment on anything else of impact in the episode, he's always on his weird racial soapbox.

MM

Sabrina is so thiccc!!!

RavinFox .

Outro music change sounds familiar... Is that Pink Blood!?? Also congrats on finishing the first season!

Matrim Hall

Unrelated to the video but have y'all considered watching Banana Fish?

Jacota Lucian

i dont know if you know this, they dont have to follow the book 100%, hell if they want they can retcon her appearence since a mage changing her appearence completely is not out of the ordinary

Astor Lefflinker

Just backread the comments and wow judging by amount of requests for the Night of the Wolf, a lot of people really do not watch the discussion at the end.

Cody Braim

Kind of funny Lupa likes the Nilfgardian armor, when that shit got revealed everyone said it looked like a nut sack lmao

Panda

Supposedly Trisses appearance changes in the books as well due to her being burned from head to toe and losing all her hair(in the battle of soden hill). But they didnt really cover that besides the bit about her PTSD

Lena Kielk

Personally I don't mind Fringilla being played by a black actress. But I think what the comment is trying to say is that the original story is written by a Polish writer, so presumably The Witcher is set in Poland where historically there weren't many people of colour? Then again it's also completely fictional so...

The Pebble

They've been spamming since the first reaction, and Roshi even said they were gonna watch it a few episodes ago; As much as I like this show, when you get something mainstream like this going all the normie tards come out to play.

Andre

I like the fact that y'all will watch the Witcher movie, but I would have preferred if y'all added it to the schedule instead of replacing an episode. Now we have to wait another week before season 2 starts.

Sheraya san

I loved this episode. CANT wait till y’all watch the movie it’s so good by the same ppl who did castlevania

MancunianProphecy

You may have missed it, but when the guy digging graves at the start offers Geralt the law of surprise for saving his life.... That which he has but does not know was Ciri.... So Geralt could have claimed Ciri twice by law of surprise.

Scott Tyson

Can't wait for the movie next and season 2!

JsnSkg

Well you have to figure, after the end of last episode, Ciri is a bit shook. So she needed someone to lean on, and the woman embraced her and encouraged her, which at the time she really sorely needed. Can't just be moving and moving and moving in this kind of situation, any human being is going to get exhausted at some point, there needs to be a breather. You can't just be like, "Welp, can't just anyone, so I guess I'll trudge on by myself and eventually die from whatever." There has to be at least a brief moment to actually breathe, for any character.

JsnSkg

Peeps talking shit about Tissaia. Me: You know nothing, Jon Snows. The soldiers saw an injured woman, so obviously they thought they were gonna get a free kill. They had no idea said injured woman was a powerful mage.

Vin

Yall watching the animated witcher or nah

Reckless Company

Lupa " i hope he doesnt break his back" next scene he hits two trees right on his back lol

Ohais

Love Lupa saying, "You don't wanna wear some palindromes?" Brother, you mean pauldrons? LMAO Palindromes are words that read the same way when spelt backwards 👏 👏 👏

Nana

Yh the Netflix series done him extremely dirty

Seth-sama

Nah you're right, in fact all the characters should only be played by the supreme leader Kim Jong-un.

Ohais

The first woman Geralt saw in his hallucination was Renfri, the one he killed in Blaviken in the first episode

KiliSloe

I recognize that outro beat.

Vin

I knew it was her I was trying to remember her name for the life of me

Pangurban

Those were Ciri's knucklebones.

Kalas Wing

Isn't it a sped-up version of pink blood opening from to your eternity?

Joey Zero

Yea I pretty much just accept Sheera's backtracking at this point. It makes for some funny moments

TypicalDemon

Geralt Like Yeah? I found you and you asking bout my Ex?

Tim Chaos

It’s honestly shocking how many people don’t realize just how racist they sound. Took a look at this guys other comments and there is a common theme.

Victor

I noticed this too but you needn't go this extreme bro. It's different from the book, yes, but the actor did a great job portraiting her character. If everything happened 100% accurately as in the book, isn't it too predictable for us readers? It's bound to be some changes man.

Tom

People had a lot of trash to talk about this show. There was a lot of reaching going on.

Godrick

no he wasnt dreaming. the witch saved him and hit the big guy with the men in black memory erase

Shane Beggs

It killed me when LUPA said Palindromes not Pauldrons😂

LJ

If u watch Steven Universe, Sheera is Sapphire and Lupa is Padparadscha

LJ

Fun fact: If he had claimed the Law of Surprise from the merchant, he would have gotten Ciri again cuz his wife had just found a girl in the woods that he didn't know about
