Adding on to what Sheera said about the upper moons being more serious than she thought, Gyutaro and Daki are upper moon 6 which means they are considered the "weakest" of the upper moon demons. Man I’m so glad they finally got to this part so the anime only watchers can stop acting like Uzui not a beast. That movie really got Rengoku fans gassed up and for some reason they think he was supposed to be unstoppable lmao like all the other Hashiras aren’t Hashira for a reason. Also the only part I’m kinda disappointed in is that they didn’t explain that nobody but Uzui knows how his blades work which is what helps catch Gyutaro off guard. They’re a mystery for the most part or something like that if I’m remembering the manga correctly. It pretty much gives him like daredevil senses. Like unless you were just that much more stronger and faster than Gyutaro then you wouldn’t be able to deflect the amount of slashes getting thrown at Uzui

You guys are not understanding what I am trying to articulate. Tanjiro is clearly nowhere near Hashira level this early into the show. If I remember the manga correctly, Tanjiro doesn't get to Hashira level until after the Hashira training arc, where Giyu himself states that Tanjiro is on par in terms of skill with a hashira. What am I saying is that, in both the fight against lower 1 Enmu and upper 6 Gyutaro, Tanjiro has been the one to behead them. Tanjiro has killed two of the twelve.

Bro that’s still irrelevant because he and the current Hashira he was with AND the surrounding town took waaay too much damage. And on top of that the ex moon he killed wasn’t even that powerful and he was weaker than Ruri which Giyu didn’t even have to try against. Doesn’t matter if Tanjiro was the one to behead the upper 6. If your saying just purely off “military” protocol he should get moved up to a higher position in rank I agree, but if your saying he should be Hashira status then I strongly disagree

Yo that’s the thing that’s weird to me about this show/manga in general. Like there’s times when they are keeping up with the Hashira and then there’s others where they are so fast they just disappear. Even in the manga Uzui was like invisible for most of his movements until it got to Tanjiro cutting off the head. Idk I guess you gotta explain the fighting events in the show somehow right? No spoilers but if you want an honest opinion Zenitsu is probably the closest to Hashira level in terms of speed

Lower 1 Enmu wasn't an ex moon? Enmu is the dude from Mugen train, who is ranked above Rui. You are talking about Kyogai who was the former lower 6. Seeing as Tanjiro has met neither of the requirements to become a Hashira, no I do not think he should be made one. Also collateral damage has nothing to do with the fact that Tanjiro is now the first slayer in over a century, regardless of how much external help there was, to kill an upper moon. Which is why I asked my original question; "How many ranks will he jump now?"

Nah I think it's pretty explainable, if Tanjiro was still in the state he was in when he was fighting the sister i think he would of been able to keep up with Uzui, but because he was so weak he just couldn't by that point until he tried to break beyond his limits again for that final showdown

You are right. I was talking about Kyogai but I never payed attention to the guy from the demon trains arc name was cuz it was so short so that’s my bad. But it does matter how much collateral damage there is because, and im going to try and keep this anime only in case others are reading this, Rengoku and Uzui made it a point to keep other civilians safe and alive. I didn’t mean the literal town but it’s residents. This is also a really big point to other Hashira in the manga but I digress for the sake of spoilers. Him being the “first” doesn’t matter if he lacks the skills to back up the rank and title. What happens when he gets sent on a higher rank mission and runs into another upper moon with no back up. He’d be dead like he would’ve been multiple times in this fight had it not been for Uzui. But I understand what your saying. He should go up in rank a bit from this

Besides, I started to feel like Akaza was only playing with Rengoku, because Uzui vs Gyuutaro is more intense than the fight in the movie, and I assume that Akaza (Upper 3) is much stronger than Gyuutaro (Upper 6).

MANGA PEOPLE SAY NOTHING Something tells me that either Tanjiro is the descendant of the samurai or the inheritor of his technique. 1) Muzan is afraid of him and it seems this happened long ago. 2) When Kyojuro’s dad mentioned Sun Breathing, they showed that man again. The mark thing though is interesting. Tanjiro had a normal scar, a deeper scar and then the flame scar. I’m pretty sure that same scar only first appeared after he fought that spider Lower Moon

uh, not sure where you heard this, but he's definitely related. Not only did they make a huge point about the Hanafuda earrings which are passed down Tanjiro's patrilineal line, but also the breathing technique is patrilineal. And that's just the non-physical things, because as you said, they look damn near identical. If it wasn't Tanjiro's dad, then it was one of the predecessors at least.
