the theme reminds me of someone. m-flo? i gotta find out who this singer is.............ok so i dont know them BUT it so reminds me of Kono Yo no Shirushi by my girl BoA aka korean Janet Jackson. sigh it is more complex production/instrumentally but it has a very similar vibe and the ending of the chorus has that same lute like melody. basically they are doing some old school jpop and im here for it. good job King Gnu

The show literally showed how him giving his clothes away has its pros and cons. While he has someone to talk to and visit everyday it still leads to more scrutiny of his potential as a ruler which literally made him cry lol.

I love that all the anime I've seen have kept up on what it means to be a true King. Y'all remember Iskandar & Gilgamesh's debate against Artoria ( Saber ) on what it means to be a real King and that one King guy that gave Rimuru advice on how to be a competent Ruler from the Slime anime? Something about you're not a real King if you're a "Kind King" or something like that. A true King needs to be feared by his people to the point of respect so their loyalty is assured otherwise you'll be seen as weak and that's when assassination attempts happen. But you can't be a horrible person otherwise the people will revolt. It's a tough balancing act. I feel like those things are gonna come into play here too.

Watched this first episode with them and just went and binged the next 6 episodes, ima say this...This show is great at making you think a character is straight up evil/trash but their logic and motivations are quite conflicting. Not S tier but I would say the story, and mainly characters, are A+ tier writing.

World Trigger does some interesting stuff, but to be honest the series is pretty dry narratively and technically. No fault to Ashihara, but with his health it's like the story never really got momentum, and the studio also hasn't done the best job with the series. I'd say they can give it a watch/read on their own time, but it's really not the best material for a reaction.

Yeah, this first op did NOT vibe with me. Watched it all the way through like, twice, and I'm like, "Nah, this is a skip." Second op is definitely fire though. Also, the first episode was okay for me, I didn't get a "This anime is amazing!" vibe from it or anything. Personally didn't feel really invested til a few episodes further.
