2022-02-14 23:44:37 you know after finishing the show and rewatching it, it's insane how much foreshadowing and missed hints there are in this specific ep. I think Taiga's monologue at the end of the Mr. Lucky race was her first time acknowledging that even though she wants Ryuji with her, she thinks Minori & Ryuji would be happier together (as she watches them finish the race hand in hand) without her and she's trying to convince herself that she'll be fine on her own. When I watched this ages ago, I just thought she was saying it in reference to her being fine without her father. Also when they're at the bonfire, I thought she was just picking a fight with Ami for the sake of it but she ran off to give Minori & Ryuji time alone. And when she started to feel bad about it, that's when Kitamura showed up as her "last hope" that she wouldn't be alone (or I'm reading too much into it but that's just my interpretation anyway)
