@hokeypokey. My issue with a lot of fan translations, even when they might technically be more accurate, they often just don’t seem like things the characters would actually say. Not that it doesn’t happen with official translations either, but you get my point

"Manwhore" is more accurate, since the term was original Yariman for females (Yarimasu = to give away, manko = pussy), then the term got awkwardly genderswapped into Yarichin (chin = dick) even though the wordplay doesn't really work anymore. Similar to how "manwhore" is just "whore" with the word "man" awkwardly stapled to the front. Fuckboy is funnier, though.

That last sketch is way funnier if you've ever read/watched shojou anime. Like in the manga version, the middle of the story randomly had a big ad taking up half of the page so it had to use stacked panels. And almost every panel in the entire chapter was full of those damn flowery bubbles. The climax of the story being the big, artsy shot of the fish and pseudo-poetic "I'm already AT the aquarium!" was probably the hardest I've ever laughed at the series because of how spot-on it was. I guess most of the humor is lost if you're not familiar with what it's making fun of.

I think fuck boy was a pretty close translation. The word they used was "yarichin" which is a slang from the two words "yaru" meaning to do and "chinko" meaning dick which implies you use your dick a lot, or to sleep with different girls frequently.

I don't read or watch shojo manga/anime, but I know of them enough to get the humor. Wait no, that's a lie. I had a brief Vampire Knight phase. That's about the extent of my shojo experience. But yeah, I feel like if you've even seen even an image or snapshot of shojo, that should suffice.
