So far it’s only the tva that turns off the stones. The stones not working in other universes is seemingly a comic book only thing or at the very least not MCU canon. Which is fine imo

Michael Pamon

Sheera and Lupa are correct. The stones still work in different universes, just not in the TVA because the TVA exists OUTSIDE of time and space. They have not explicitly said in the MCU that the infinity stones only work in their intended universe. That is only a thing in the comics so far.

Jason Eastman

The stones would absolutely work. People fucked up thinking that they would only work in their universe of origin, but they'll work in any universe. The reason they don't work in the TVA is because that place exists outside of all reality, and therefore cannot be affected by stones designed to manipulate reality.

DBG

in the comics when thanos fought darkseid thanos lost because his stones didn't work outside his universe

Anonymous

In the comics, Yes the stones will not work in different universes. However, it has been confirmed that the MCU multiverse works by different rules. So in this limited case, the stones work in different universes.

Trey Milliner-Williams

I just realized the world he sent Natasha to was the one where hank killed everyone lmao I feel slow as shit

Bob

Does anyone know why wanda couldnt kill ultron there? Like shes strong enough to challenge full set of stones and ultron didnt even have that.

Austin Jones

he still had most of them but the reason why she couldn't kill Ultron was cuz he's using Vision's body. Since Wanda and Vision were a couple it showed she couldn't fight him since she loved him

Denickart

Sucks they had to push the Gamora episode back to next season

WeavyBoo

I think it was a nice touch that when Dr. Strange unleashed what appeared to be the same beast that Captain Carter faced, we got a shot of her shocked face

devin billups

Regarding that, that also means the stones shouldn't work in the space in between universes where the watcher resides either. I think it's just an oversight due to different writers. In the comics, the stones don't work outside of their own universe period. Loki seemingly confirmed it but "What If" contradicted it. Just a theory but it's also a possibility that since Ultron has broken into each universe that he traveled to, it created a "tunnel" that the stones can still draw their power from.

WuffleIron

So one theory about the stones is, there are 2 types of multiverses: a timeline based multiverse (TM) and a multiverse based multiverse (MM). TM exists through branches in the timeline, but they are still based on the same 'origin' and thus based on the same infinity stones, which is why those stones can be used in different TM's. Then you got the MM, which are supposed to be multiverses which have a different 'origin' (read: base state) than the 'main' multiverse. So, the stones from the main multiverse cannot be used in the multiverse that has a different origin and thus different stones. But since Timebranch based multiverses all originate from the same 5 stones, they can be used across all the different TM's. Thought it was a pretty cool theory, since it still works with the Endgame time traveling and the LOKI tv-show.

Supreme Strange putting everyone on his back, what a chad

Mikal Adkins

Another decent theory is that based on what Gamora said in this episode since every set of infinity stones is slightly different from the other ones, maybe the difference in the ones in the main storyline is that they can't be used in other universes. That's just my take on it though.

Maikeru

The infinity stones work with different universes. The TVA made the stones and all magic inert. Also, Dr. Hulk explained that each time heist event would change things to the point that things would never be the exact same(due to their meddling). So the stones still work within the boundaries of the universe(any universe) they are in, or within some arbitrary timeline. The TVA was outside of all time.

Lord Winters

Strange swallowed the explosion that was gonna blow up the planet,

Mid_Nite_Crisis

Y'all didn't peep that at the end, it was the end of episode 3 that the watcher dropped widow off at. That's the universe where ant man took everyone out and loki moved in.

rickie woodson

the fans are fucking up. so is the mcu. its outside of time/the multiverse they dont work i.e. the tva's headquarters...........also they change their rules all the time just like they made up some nonsensical time shit and then broke that so they could have the loki show

Brandon Gibbs

Well that was an epic final battle of the multiverse against Ultron and I was hoping it would end on a good note and it DID! Now once again Peggy finally has Steve back...I think.

Osiac Adrian

As someone who hasn't really watched/read much of anything (outside of tv shows/movies), I thought that Steve being alive in the HydraStomper wouldn't be a big deal. Didn't he already get frozen in ice the first time around (in the original story or whatever)?

The Tony and Gamora scene was definitely confusing for a second, but only because this first season was supposed to have 10 episodes. The missing episode is What if Tony and Gamora ended up on Sakaar instead of Thor and Hulk. Sadly it got pushed to next season.

BZD

Dr Strange calling the Watcher his friend. They’re besties now.

BZD

I was rewatching this, and noticed that both Black Widows mentioned Peggy’s “cute wordplay”. That’s enjoyable

BZD

Wait! How could Killmonger even use all the stones at once? That kind of stuff killed Tony, and destroyed Bruce’s arm. And Killmonger is definitely closer to Tony than Bruce in durability.

Justin Baker

I suspect because he had the black panther armor, as well as ultron's nanotech vibranium armor. I'm assuming those together could hold the power of all the stones. Tony would've disintegrated instantly if it wasn't for his armor taking the brunt of the energy output, so just imagine how powerful ultrons armor must've been.

None None

Okay everyone. Here's the answer about the Infinity Stones, straight from the writer's mouth: "Just a reminder that Ultron is using the Infinity Stones to power himself (same universe being). Also he's legit punching across multiverses turning them into one messy universe soup." So apparently in movie canon, the stones don't work outside their universe, but they still work on THINGS from the same universe, so he can use them on himself (which also explains why Doctor Strange is only able to unfreeze himself). And also Ultron punching through universes is fucking up the definition of "the universe".

KapZachlan

We need a Guardians of the Multiverse movie asap

Illusary Illustrater

roshi right infinity stones dont work outside their own universe

Davon Thomas

Gamora's killing thanos episode was moved to the 2nd season so that will be hype

Ke

In the comics they don’t but I think the mcu did it different

Travis

its true the infinity stones dont work outside their universe, ultron is using the stones like a battery powering his laser blasts, he didn't use the actual individual stones power.

baja

I thought it was something like that. By travelling, he essentially fused them because he is a being that just poped out of existence in the other universes

wassa

imagine if they wrote it so that steve actually appeared to have died during the train bombing, and then in the future steve gets the syrum from hyrdra and peggy has to fight him as the winter soldier

Xavier Chandler

Ik the chance of seeing this comment is minuscule even still y'all should check Kengan Ashura in ya spare time and decide if you wanna throw it in rotation

Jannika

This was also made before Loki, imagine if we saw this before that, then we would assume it was just the TVA that made them useless.

TypicalBlackGuy

The theory for the TVA is that it's in the quantum universe, so infinity stones might work everywhere except the quantum realm

The Truth

Black Widow was sent to the Universe where all the Avengers were killed by Hank Pym and Loki took over

The Truth

Cap was still under ice, at the end Nick Fury went to Caps shield and Captain marvel showed up, only Ironman, Hawkeye, black widow, Thor and Hulk were killed

Kwame Afriyie

The Celestials enslaved the Watchers, after Millenium of war

Salute gaming

A random thought the stones that made it to the tva didnt work because they reset the time line where the stones belong to and return making new stones and rendering the original useless

Lord Winters

The Watchers and Celestials are actually still in a stalemate, neither side has won the war yet.

RaShon Johnson

Have the crew seen Black Mirror Series?

Mordecaix Rigby

The one above all is the one above the watcher lol

Thomas_Stilinski

that looked like ultron just the size of galactus and roshi is right the stones dont work outside of the intended universe they were made in

Temeculous

Steven swallowed the supernova ultron was going to use to destroy the planet.

Amzee

Don't know if i'm the first to point this out but the sound that Ultron makes when using an infinity stone is kinda like a father box
