theres a later arc called suruga devil but its probably suruga monkey cus of the initial misconception and they continue to refer to it as monkeys paw as well as rainy devil.

I think it's good characterization. The point behind it seemed to be an attempt to distract and seduce him, but she kinda just got distracted in enjoy a stupid conversation that ALSO builds on some of her personality traits, like her love for BL, general perversion to which Araragi can DEFINITELY relate, and her on-going tendency to chase odd tangents in conversation.

the reason why Araragi was surprised about Kanbaru being les is because Senjougahara never actually said it! The subtitles y'all be using for this reaction is kinda wack. Last episode, what Senjougahara actually said was that Kanbaru idolized/admired her as a Senpai, not that she was her crush
