The show follows loosely the original Castlevania timeline (the main timeline, not the one in Lords of Shadwo, which is a reboot of some sort) Chronologically, at least in the games, Trevor is the first Belmont who stood against Dracula with the legendary whip in hand. This particular plot is told in Castlevania III, which is as barebones as any other NES games in its time. So yeah, most of the scenes and dialogue is straight up new for this show.

Well it's totally it's own story. Castlevania is totally it's own fiction as it almost only thing it has is Dracula and everything else is it's own story.
