The best thing about Tanya is that no matter what happens she refuses to bow to an supposedly "omnipotent being" just because it wants her to. That's fucking badass.

Ricardo Arellano

Don't forget that there is also a movie to watch after the 12 episodes

Oui Oui

The Trench Gun was a treaty violation. Not the rounds.

It’s funny how Tanya’s actions lead to the father soldier trying to get revenge and getting the power, but still blames being X. She could have had any career but she still is in the Military, just shows you how some people follow their pathetic ideals to and reject humility.

Sgtanders

Being X is obviously the one who has a hand in it, its shown time and time again, the father gets the power cause of Being X, to fight Tanya. Her ideal to fight against Being X isn't pathetic, she's just logical, and it has nothing to do with humility, why would anyone bow to Being X, who's nothing but a bastard?

AjohnJexy 123

If she was logical she would be efficient in achieving what’s best for her. Tanya is logical but flawed and ended up becoming more irrational as she tried to her her soldier. Being X gave her a chance if that’s not good then I don’t know what is. If a being is all powerful and is omnipresent then there should be humility especially if she knew he really exists. She is illogical in defying the inevitable force acting quite immaturely. Being X gave her and the father soldier power it’s up to them to use it or not. There is an amazing proverb, the rain falls for the wicked and righteous. It is those that harvest that benefits and it is those that defy what is given that are fools.

She was an orphan born with a high-aptitude for being a mage. She was going to get drafted 100%. Even if she somehow managed to play her cards right and avoid getting drafted, Being X would have pulled some strings to get her into perilous war-time antics regardless.

Sgtanders

Just cause a being is all powerful and omnipresent, doesn't mean it deserves any kind of humility. If something like that demands humility, they don't deserve it. Its like when people demand respect, while not having deserved respect. Also, Tanya has been trying to do whats best for her, but Being X always interfered. Plus, when Tanya was giving assignment options earlier on by the higher ups, she didn't have a choice then, as she said. She had to pick the special one, or expect trouble from the higher ups. In the end, there's nothing illogical in defying what you don't believe in, plain and simple.

AjohnJexy 123

We cant know that, many soldiers even told her she would have been good for other jobs throughout the anime. She didn’t have to go since she was young I think she forced the committee to consider her as the Empire is a meritocracy. She also played herself into being in the front line.

AjohnJexy 123

Being X deserves respect because he is all powerful. You respect the being if he is God because he created the universe or at least can. A king deserves respect no matter what, even if you’ve never met, especially if you’re from a different country. Same logic applies to an omnipresent and omnipotent being.

SoggySoup

What Tanya wants and what she gets are 2 completely different things lmao. We have seen multiple times that Being X will drag her back into battle if he has too.

AjohnJexy 123

Tanya wants to kill Being X and prove a point that won’t accept Being X. As long as that exists she will find herself in conflict with Being X because of her arrogance.

t'shiar

irl, the Germans did argue that the buckshot used in the trench guns were a treaty violation

Tulio

So if I tell you that the Being X is actually the Devil, would you still be kind and subservient to it? Just because it SEEMS TO BE omnipotent and omnipresent? Because that was her point all along back when she was still a man in our world, and what made Being X send him to this war isekai mage bullshit to begin with. There is no guarantee or signal so far that this being is neither omnipotent or omnipresent, and we know for sure it is not kind nor fair (In her words, he strapped a bomb around her neck and took her hostage, as if life or death was a fair / equal choice she could have had at the time) All we know for sure about Being X is that it is petty. Look at how much trouble he puts a guy just for some acknowledgment that it is indeed God.

Reign

she could of had any career? what kinda fucking dream world do you live in? did you not watch the first few episodes?

JsnSkg

That was actually hype talk in the beginning, not trash talk. She was hyping up her squad. I'm amazed you can't tell the difference. "How does it feel" Y'all act like pullin up on ppl during war is a bad thing? Dafuq? Lmao. "I wonder who can pray harder" Considering there's one episode and a movie left, probably Tanya. Um, yeah he self-destructed. What else could that have been? He was already activating that spell when he had Tanya anyway. Lol. For peeps always trying too hard to use their respective [insert name]gans, I'm surprised y'all didn't see that.

toptier sagat

That makes no sense at all. And why would it? religion isn't about logic lol

Jaze

You respect a god if they are something you preach to and praise and King gets respect out of either trust or fear. Something, whether it be god or king, doesn't deserve respect just for existing.

AjohnJexy 123

The devil is not omnipotent, I think you misunderstand what Satan or devil is. If Being X is the devil in the anime then I cannot say much. To others in the comments, you don’t get to chose the universe. We haven’t even mastered basic things as a species and we are held under laws of physics. There are things that are fundamental and that you cannot choose. Maybe it’s your culture, in mine we respect those that can do things that we can’t. To the other comment literally a soldier said she could have any other career and a Tanya reflects in it couple episodes back. Tanya is petty after her former self died. That is the ultimate pettiness, that even in death she cannot admit her defeat p. She cannot manipulate the death she caused herself. Seems like you guys think you have all the power in the world. When a person dies that’s it, humility is strength and acceptance of the inevitable will only bring growth. Everyone here literally proved my point about the false pretence of power that comes with free thought. Tanya is evil to the point of ignorance, the fact that she got a second chance is a gift she could have a normal life if she accepts Being X. If Being X is petty to give her a second chance then good! She has what many won’t get.

None None

She's in fantasy Germany right before World War I. She knows damn well that Germany's about to get clapped, the Treaty of Versailles is gonna send Germany into an awful economic depression, then the Jewish bankers are going to loanshark the hell out of the desperately poor. Then the Nazi party gets pissed and takes Germany into their own hands, leading up to World War II. She knows damn well that her options are to enlist now and prevent that chain of events, or let that play out and suffer through the depression until getting drafted into an even worse situation. There's a reason she keeps trying to warn her superiors that there's a World War coming and try to prevent it. Being X stacked the deck against her and she knows it.

Daniel Borrego

the thing with being x is that it wont let tanya die without tanya submitting. when it empowers people to fight her, it never does it so they can kill tanya, it does it to put her in 'dire circumstances'. remember, being x literally created a whole damn world just to get tanya to submit to it. its a narcissist. and make no mistake, tanya is no better. she would literally let the whole world burn rather then submit to being x. they are made for each other :D

Wild

Btw for the shotgun thing if u guys didn’t know about ww1 Germans used tear gas and flamethrowers on trenches so Americans used shotguns or what they were called during that time trench guns it was a violation of war because it was a wide spread close quarter combat gun which was easy to handle and because Germans were already using flamethrowers and tear gas Americans just brushed it off cause flamethrowers and gas was already illegals as is

Deric Jackson

Tanya would've been made to join the military cause she is a mage and mages were automatically drafted once they reached a certain age as told in like episode one or two which is why she decided to go in early

Derick A. Hartman

The main reason they were outlawed was because they were more likely to just maim and injure than kill outright, like the Germans gas, flamethrowers and serrated bayonets.

Inug0d

The guys escaping were the HQ guys that left base she found empty. She's pissed for not being thorough on it which led to this.

Alvin Smith

Well, all she knows is this being made her life extremely hard and difficult just to force her to believe and worship them. I think her being mad about that makes sense. What being X is saying is stop trying to fight or submit or else. He even makes an evil face at her. And as None None said, her life was never going to be normal. She even said the first episode she was going to be forcefully drafted in any way at an older age. Tanya just decided to speed up and do it now so that they can live comfortably quicker.

Anthony Longoria

Fun thing about an omnipresent deity is that it isn't much of a jump to being all knowing (Omniscient). A entity responsible for creation that is present at all places and at all times has essentially created a show, free will is a joke as they know what your choice will be and what it was from the very start of time. Theoretically if we could calculate the position of every molecule we could predict the future and that is the position such a entity is in. Because Being X is often annoyed/borderline confused by Tanya's choices it is obviously not omnipresent/omniscient. Then considering that what Being X does/how it interacts with the world it is also not omnipotent. More like that of a Greek God than one of the more modern ideas of Gods. On top of that the others are right if you follow along with the story, it has been Being X dragging Tanya back to the front lines even when she makes moves to avoid war and she is in a world were she would have been drafted sooner or later
