fun fact: Toshizou mentioned the failing to die at the Battle of Hakodate in this episode. That was where the real life Hijikata Toshizou died, and a week later his remaining forces surrendered and allowed the Meiji Restoration to take place.

its been a while but one thing I'm surprised you didn't comment on sooner is the fact they called him a manslayer. That wasn't a general term they used it specifically means Hitokiri which are 4 famous samurai who helped bring in the Meiji era assassinating shogunate people. Kenshin Himura is based on one of them so I thought you would of connected the dots sooner than you did XD. Its actually really sad because in reality most of them were betrayed or forced to commit suicide after they served their purpose so this episode really hit him for the history buff in me.
