I do not get how everyone is hating on Tybur at the beginning. The man was basically Commander Erwin: "I am willing to sacrifice myself, everyone, their mother, and my mother if it means we have a small chance at victory." The whole point of the season thus far has been showing how there are heroes and villains on all sides of the conflict.

They may be brainwashed but what Eren just did justified it to them right here because right now Eren and the rest of them are acting like the devils they were proclaimed to be. They killed innocent people and children just like how everyone believed they were going to do and you can say whatever you want but at this point Eren is no different then the Marlians because as you can see Eren doesn't care about other peoples lives and that ideology is spreading to other soldiers. While Mikasa is wondering why we had to be the monsters that we hated for. So right now begins the fact that both sides are most likely equally as terrible it is just which one you appearance wise like.

yes there are parallels between the attacks and between gabi and eren but i hate the way ppl act like they're the same and are like 'keep the same energy for gabi as u did for eren'. like no, we've been through three seasons with eren as the main character and the entire time, eren has fought for freedom not just to kill, whereas gabi is a war hungry brat but naive and brainwashed. they're two different things, and fuck gabi for what she does. sasha should have finished her off smh or she should have died instead of zofia :(

My personal opinion is I’m with Eren all the way lol. They were already confined to paradis island with no knowledge at all; the assault they launched for the power they wanted turned those kids into brutal warriors but eren most of all changed the most his mother the betrayals. All this is right here is a repeat of the day the armored titan destroyed the wall and allowed many many ppl to die and I think it’s justified. They inflitrated them took their love ones, before all that sentence them life on a island of titans with no say in ppl say eren is wrong but Marley fucked the ppl and their ancestors from paradis island TWICE Anyway aside from the kids cause they can still be broken out of the brainwashing I’m not sad for any of the people in Marley or the Eldians that work under them

I LOVE how they snuck in that shot of Levi watching over Eren from his own little assassin's creed perch, during that mashup of the scouts waiting for Eren to eat the War Hammer. And its shown just a couple seconds before he swoops in and slices Galliard's jaw. Perfectly placed, epic asf, and I didn't even notice until my 5th watch. Fucking. Brilliant.

Man soooo many people miss the point of this show and this arc specifically that it hurts. Have we not been paying attention to what Eren and Reiner have been saying the last few episodes? People in Marley are not getting 'karma' or 'whats coming to them'. There's good and bad people on BOTH sides, everyone is just acting from the circumstances of their situation. Nobody is a good or bad person because they were born on one side of an ocean or the other. Killing civilians and children isn't justified just because you think your side is 'good' or 'right'. It's very tragic to see in comment sections and discussion boards people illustrating the exact cycle of violence and hatred that Isayama is trying to depict in this series.

If you go back to episode one of this season Gabi mentions the "rules of war" so I would believe war crimes would still be a thing. I mean outside of paradis and titans everything else plays by real world rules.

First of all, that’s not how brainwashing works. Brainwashing is mainly caused by propaganda. There was plenty of that against Eldians from the get go. And kids are especially susceptible to it. So no, they don’t know what they’re doing. We know that even Eren recognized this but he didn’t care. Second of all, what good would attacking Marley do to Eldians? They’ve said so many times already that Marley is the only place willing to keep Eldians around, everywhere else wants them gone. And other countries have already started to develop anti-Titan weapons. So of course the non-Paradis Eldians are going to defend Marley. It’s not them being ignorant, it’s basic common sense lmao.

You do realize how long it takes to hand draw animations, right? There were single scenes from WIT that took months at a time to complete. It would’ve taken 5+ years for this season to come out if they’d done it hand drawn. And WIT had terrible CGI so at least they switched over to MAPPA for it

I'm sorry for my English, I'm Brazilian. But I think that the vision that we have to have about Eren's actions going forward, is exactly what was said in the conversation between him and Reiner. Eren is a product of this chaotic and selfish world we live in. He basically has no choice but to continue fighting against his enemies, people did not choose peace so why should he die and choose peace too? Gabi didn't even spend 20% of what Eren went through.

This is a great comment, people in the comments are upset because they think none of us “get the point” but this is EXACTLY the point. We’ve spent so much time with our protagonists its expected we will side with them, even if they are doing equally fucked up things. Having us spend time in Marley was a set up to get you close to some of these characters before the attack to begin blurring the lines. Lupa was clearly conflicted at one point. What Attack on Titan is doing here isnt some novel idea which is what folks dont understand, a lot of shows have done this or something similar in the past. The way we continue to side with Eren while hes committing terrible acts personally reminds me of how we continue to side with Walt in Breaking Bad even after he’s crossed certain lines.

10/10 episode for me...this episode is very reminiscent of the very first episode and Gabi is literally kid Eren. Even when Gabi said that she didn’t understand why her friends had to die, Eren had said the same the the last episode when he asked Reiner why is mom had to die. Once more, the cycle of hatred has began anew. It sucks because I kinda wish that it could’ve ended peacefully...like Eren killed children and innocent civilians...don’t get me wrong, Marley did the same thing when Reiner bussed through the walls of Paradise Island and I completely understand where Eren is coming from...tbh I probably would have done the same thing when I really think about it...I just wish it didn’t have to happen this way but we all know that could never happen because the hate runs so deep. This can be very evident in the survey corps because it seems like some members aren’t trying to kill civilians while others just don’t care and want to kill them all. I have 2 questions: (1) Mikasa told Eren to come home.....so how long has Eren been there? (2) It seems that Marley had no counter for the 3D maneuver gear but, in season 2, zeke took the 3D maneuver gear to study it...so did zeke not tell Marley about it and he has his own agenda or did he tell them but they were so far up their own ass that they didn’t listen. This show is fucking S-tier dude🔥🔥🔥🔥sorry for this being so long lol

haha this is exactly how I felt and still feel as a manga reader. All that is happening is literally consequences upon consequences. That's part of why I consider this one of the best plots ever. Isayama (the mangaka) made the setup as conflicting as possible (Eldian ancestors being so incredibly cruel to the world but descendants have done nothing wrong) so the hatred from both sides is way too deep for a better outcome as of now. I'm glad to see a fellow neutral here and I also completely understand when people take Eren's side or don't.

I love how this show makes people question their morality. Innocents of Marley are being slaughtered... but they came at paradis first... however because they were fed the false history of Helios... by King Fritz's decision of die-for-peace because of the sin of their ancestors who were demonic as hell.... but Grisha/revolutionists did not care for the lack of action from Fritz in the walls, Marley based eldians were being oppressed and treated like devils, his sister was chewed on to death, hence Grisha usurped the founding titan... but now peace is no more an option, the rumbling cannot be absolutely prevented since Eren is not of royal blood... but he understands but he chose not to die, it's either this or wait for an end on paradis... The freaking mental and emotional wrestling does not end! And damn it, that makes this show 100/10 for me. All you can do is strap on for the ride.

Really? The guy pointed out they were the power behind Marley and were the ones who sent Reiner's Warrior team to Paradis in the first place. Other Eldians get treated horribly and he knows it, yet he stages a large production for everyone to go to war against Paradis instead of helping. Erwin was fighting against the threat of the titans under the impression that humanity didn't exist outside the walls. Their situation isn't even comparable.
